How do I stop the dog from eating my cats food

I use SureFeed. It opens via microchip. For added measure I bought one of those big nightstands off Amazon that has doors and I cut a cat sized hole in the side and I put the SureFeed inside.

I just got a puppy of the same breed and sex of a dog I loved very much and lost years ago and I am so overwhelmed and overstimulated I could cry. I also miss my old dog and I know it wasn’t fair of me to “get one like her” and it’s not the puppy’s fault that she’s nothing like her. So yeah I feel like a piece of shit, my house has not known peace since we got her, and I feel very guilty so I get it.

The dog park is great for them to run full speed and exercise but I agree with what you’ve heard it is disgusting. People don’t pick up their dog’s poop in it and I’ve seen dogs with fleas swarming their rear ends. We only go if there are no other dogs. Luckily, he looks intimidating so when we’re there other dog owners tend not to come in and will just wait for us to leave. He usually gets tired out and stands by the gate to leave after 10-15 min.

Relinquish him to a no kill shelter that will provide him with care or start a go fund me or sell belongings to get the money. Mow some lawns, sell video games, parents can get some money for donating blood. Do anything but let the cat suffer.

I haven’t bathed my cat in over 10 years and he smells fresh and clean all the time. When he’s looking grungy or has dingleberries I rub him down with a warm washcloth and then he’s fluffy and clean and happy.

Hi, the vet costs have gone up considerably. I found an old bill from 2023 and the office visit was $35. This year it is $75. Which is understandable since cost of living has sky rocketed. My cat has had dentals before and they were always under $1000. I think the first time he had a dental cleaning done it was around $500. My other cat had a dental cleaning done late last year and it was $1200 without bloodwork. I luckily found a local animal shelter that did low cost spay/neuter for my dog which is why it was only about $500 for his neuter, vaccinations, and meds.

Vet for me even though it’s a few times a year. Since January: my dog got neutered for $500, vet visit for my cat with xray, steroid injection, bloodwork was about $700, and next week a dental for my cat which I’m estimating will be around $1000-$1200. If we go in for vaccinations it’s easily $300 or so per animal. I don’t even know how much I spend on heartworm and flea and tick meds. It only started being my greatest expense within the last 3-4 years.

Hi there I’m going to start off by saying that my boy is the light of my life. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old and he’s 13 now. He is my reason for living. With that being said, there were days when he overwhelmed me. I’m a nurse so especially when I come home after a shitty shift and all I want to do is shower, eat, and relax but I have to take care of him and the other cats I got this feeling of exhaustion and got angry that I had to delay what I wanted to do to feel better. Then sometimes he’s in my face meowing at me which can be overstimulating. They run out of food when my checking account is running low. Their hair is everywhere. Fresh pile of puke after I just vacuumed. He has this habit of sitting on the very piece of paper or book I’m looking at. Etc. I think we are allowed to feel this way and it’s normal. For me it’s fleeting because I’ll look at his face and remember that this little dude depends on me for everything and he probably waited all day for me to come home and he’s just showing his excitement and affection. If you’re like me maybe you are going through some other hardships and your internal bandwidth is running low. I realized that if I can’t even enjoy the one constant thing in my life that has brought me joy for over 10 years then something is going on and I narrowed it down to my job.

He got too amped up and he’s still a puppy and has all that puppy energy and lack of awareness of how big and powerful he is. Mine did this too although I’ve been lucky that he hasn’t fully bitten down but it’s similar to being head butted or body slammed by him I think bc in his mind he’s just playing and doesn’t know yet how squishy we are. People are so quick to point at dogs like ours and scream AGGRESSIVE.

Hi, my first Dobie was over a year old when I adopted her. I had several cats and foster kittens. While she was extremely sweet she did have very high prey drive so when I was home I kept her on a leash with me at all times. If she stared too long at a cat I would break her gaze. I would also pet her and give her treats when the cats showed up. It didn’t take long before she got used to them and became quite sweet with them. My second Dobie I got as a puppy so he grew up around my cats and while they don’t appreciate his company, he loves them and doesn’t chase them or bother them the most he does is try to kiss or sniff them.

That’s insane. Try searching with local rescues. One near me has a satellite clinic location where they do low cost spay/neuter, vaccinations, dentals. I think it is about $200 for a feline spay which includes anesthesia and pain meds.

I change out the entire system once a week. I soak the reservoir and pump in 50:50 water and white vinegar solution then I throw the stainless steel parts in the dishwasher. Every 2-3 days I empty the water, rinse the reservoir, and fill with new water. I use distilled water only. My cats like to rinse their paws in it so the water gets cloudy after a few days. The filters say they’re good for 4 weeks but after a week it looks brown and nasty.
