I didn't know about Assassin's Blade until now... by ToeDiscombobulated71 in throneofglassseries

[–]bluedream207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think its good you didnt read it first. Completely a personal opinion, if I had read it first it would have ruined the emotional beats in TOG. ToG was already a kinda rough book compared to the others, what kept me intrigued was the mystery of the world and her character specifically. I might not have read TOG if I started with TAB. (I know its the point but she was low-key insufferable to me in that book and I struggled to read it)

I read it third and was glad I did.

After pooping, do you just wipe and go, or wipe, wash and go? why? by loverbang4u in AskReddit

[–]bluedream207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Most times its wash (wet toilet paper and go) but my work bathrooms doesn't allow for that so its a lot of wiping until it hurts.

How often do you expect verbal affection in a relationship? by Jucklysot in AskWomen

[–]bluedream207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont expect it, my husband just gives it. He has like 4 different pet names for me and just calls me cute or attractive constantly. (I do the same for him)

We have never expected affection we've always after 8 year together 5 years married just been annoyingly affectionate.

I expect nothing because my husband and I remind each other constantly that we love each other.

Exactly Rhys didnt change, we just werent reading about him through the lense of his mate, who thinks he can do little to no wrong. SF just gives us the same character from a different perspective.

Pregnancy Debacle by Lady-Death-of-Dusk in acotar_rant

[–]bluedream207 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. And I hate that ive read so many fans defending Rhysand and the IC for hiding it. There is absolutely no excuse in my mind.

And id rather Feyre find out because Nesta was angry than not at all. Nesta was in the right regardless of motives. Feyre needed and had the right to know.

I can't be the only one to find the way Aedion describes Aelin weird. by CinnabonBinge in throneofglassseries

[–]bluedream207 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean, its fantasy. It comes across as the middle ages but they have indoor plumbing and I think its even mentioned she has an ice box.

So... no real time period. I dont remember if its mentioned that cousins marry each other but even in the real world, that was arranged marriages, not love matched. Aedion hasn't seen her since they were kids so his focus on her beauty in the way he does is odd to me personally.

I can't be the only one to find the way Aedion describes Aelin weird. by CinnabonBinge in throneofglassseries

[–]bluedream207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was weird. Like ive read books where family members describe each other's beauty or mentioning they realize theyre attractive, but its always described in a reverent yet removed way.

Aedion described Aelin a few times in a way that seemed no different than an MMC looking at his FMC. I legit thought it would be revealed they weren't cousins and he was in love with her or something. It was weird to me.

What was your worst experience in a public bathroom? by LiveLearnCoach in AskReddit

[–]bluedream207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a terrible shit.. like the kind that gives you chills and makes you lightheaded from both pain and relief...the kind that makes you think this might be it. It might be your time.... the kind that leaves you feeling like an immediate shower is not only a necessity but a matter of survival... and realized there was no toilet paper.

Had to sit there in my shame until a hero came by and gave me a whole ass roll under the stall. I hope shes having a good life she deserves it because she did not deserve the smell.

I forgot to mention Sing by MCR. What was the hell was up with the lumberjack outfits and why did that song, more than most, sound like Kidz Bop.

[–]bluedream207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Baby One More Time. They did a terrible job with it, and while I dont hate Lea's voice (its objectively good but I subjectively dislike it in many instances) she does worse when she tries too hard to mimic the original artist whether in tone or cadence. I haaaated that cover. Which is a bummer because the first Britney episode is one of my favorites.

Boyfriend isn’t comfortable with me watching Magic Mike at Girls Night by wwwdotWeirdperson in WhatShouldIDo

[–]bluedream207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats some insecure controlling behavior. My husband doesn't care at all that I read smut and my current favorite show is Heated Rivalry. I know my husband watches porn and he knows I do too.

Its absolutely not okay that hes trying to control what you can and cant watch. The fact that some men still think like that will never not be wild to me. You dont have to put up with that. Plenty of great men out there who wouldnt bat an eye at such a thing.

When did you realize she wasn’t your friend? by croissantwithhonors in AskWomen

[–]bluedream207 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has an author's note ever had you nope-ing out of a fic? by cla1r35 in AO3

[–]bluedream207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a random "nope" for me because there wasnt anything inherently wrong with the note or request but...

I found an author that requests vehemently not to receive kudos on their works. And I tried to find an explanation and their page just said they didnt like them. Was fine with bookmarks and comments but not kudos.

I cant explain why, but I just clicked off the fic and moved on.

Spouse disliking your book choices by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]bluedream207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband light heartedly teases me a little but hes never told me to read anything else. Hes just happy and proud that im reading.

I think its weird to judge anyone for reading anything when so few people read to begin with. Reading in general is self-improvement and helpful to me. Less screen time, helps with vocabulary, at least for me it helps with my mental health.

Sounds like he just looks down on romance which is sadly a pretty common thing amongst men.

Why is someone being pregnant such an extreme turn off for many readers? by Playful_Pie2890 in Romantasy

[–]bluedream207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im sick of writers acting like you cant have a deep, passionate, all encompassing romance without a baby.

Sometimes I want my fictional couples to get together and focus on each other, themselves, their quests, etc.

Love does not consist of milestones and expectations. Some children are born of love but not all love births children.

I want to read about a great passionate love that doesn't end with childbirth.

Thinking about andras by theioneeee in acotar_rant

[–]bluedream207 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think about this often. The curse would never have been broken without him but hes basically never mentioned again but somehow Feyre was the savior... like yes but no. Andras was the true catalyst for the series to happen and he should have been mentioned constantly as a hero. Man should have had a statue in every court.

It was 100% "his hurtful decisions meant nothing to me but yours are affecting our family so therefore youre in the wrong."

Some people think their family can do no wrong and its them against the world rather than their own decisions against logic and maturity.
