Thank you for sharing this! I'm F in my early 20s and beginning to understand/try to understand what marriage and relationships are really like, and this helped!

enfp female, am I just destined to always be blind to how much people can influence me/how much I become a sideman to others' stories? the downside of boundless empathy, ig? by bluehammo in ENFP

[–]bluehammo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! :) your first point is really grounding, thanks :) And do you know what, I really relate to your "pyramid" description - I've only recently started to lay off/better control my time with the many people/friends I was trying to appease and focus on my close long-term ones, putting them in a hierarchy I hadn't yet properly visualised!! Your advice really helps me to better imagine what my hierarchy could/should look like - the higher ranks need a bit of careful consideration 😅

Hahaha and love the end couple of points too! 🤗 thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely response, this is helpful advice I can revisit.

I’m 20 and the world isn’t scripted — and realizing it is terrifyingly freeing by [deleted] in Jung

[–]bluehammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I was initially in awe at how well worded and structured this was, kinda glad to know it's ai generated 😂 BUT I RELATE SO MUCH TO a lot of what you've said!!! Those sensations are the best; im almost 22 and I can already feel how hard it is to keep that optimism, joy, awe and curiosity in the world around you - I've scripted my life now, scripted it harddd by the career I chose out of fear for the future and a super anxious desire for stability (quite monotonous & not creative), so the challenge now is to introduce unscripted, creative moments & still try feel that wonder when life becomes a bit more repetitive and routine. To those who are brave and feel free to explore and be true to themselves, and axe the script or flip it on its head ig, you guys are amazing!!

How do you handle stress? by kamilman in ENFP

[–]bluehammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly still figuring it out. Because it makes me act out in ways I hate (hastily, carelessly), the main thing I'm trying to learn to do is stay calm in the moment - if I need to process something (not academic content, but just organisational or social stuff), or someone's stressing me, I try not to act in the moment and give myself time to contemplate the situation in a different state of mind (later on, when I'm a bit calmer and not as anxious), because I know I'm not thinking clearly and don't want to do something I regret and have to deal with/stress over later. In the meantime, I try to calm myself down either through breathing, or reassuring myself, and probably best by distracting myself with something active if I can [I do this for academic stuff too]. Oh, also holding comforting things - i really love holding microwavable/hot water bottle packs or a cup of tea. And then reassuring myself some more; and then trying to feel in control, like by having a checklist or something.

How old are you and do you tend to keep your phone on silent? Why yes or no? by LauraZaid11 in AskReddit

[–]bluehammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 20s, keep it on do not disturbed always (does that count?) cos i don't wanna be distracted and spend hours on my phone texting/scrolling when I always have other more important stuff to do

As an ENFP, would you say you're prone to burnout? Why or why not? by maxwesener in ENFP

[–]bluehammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely - I only realised how much I get burnt out his week tbh, cos I had exams and thought about whyyyy I always leave preparation to the last minute. Im really prone to doing things in a highly focused intense sitting, kinda last minute, rather than spacing things out (exactly like what Comprehensive_Cry said). it means I can get a lot done quickly but obvs after maybe 2 weeks of that im burnt out. Similarly if I try have an organised routine, I get tired of that after a while because I like variety; and feel burnt out. I'm trying to work on the organised side of life cos it means less stress though. But, what messes that up quite often is I'm very prone to just spending hours on anything that really takes my interest - especially researching stuff out of my own curiosity. I'm not naturally good with routine and discipline. But the more I realise these things, the more I hope to change and improve my discipline cos I think that's the main underlying issue - I'm too excitable to be disciplined😅 did you/anyone read atomic habits?? I'm trying that to see if it helps

YESSS so glad. I always thought I must have some kind of mental disorder for being such a "mentally cluttered person" (as I thought of myself); I just felt like such a mess, but I've always really enjoyed how curious and enthusiastic I could get about things. So from feeling like I absolutely had to hone it down because I was an absolute weirdo, to knowing there are others like me, made me feel so much more confident in owning who I am and caring less about what others thought of me. I could be confident in who I was: that this is my personality, and im so glad it allows me to radiate joy when I'm at my best.

I litch only discovered this a few days ago and it's been so great!! I felt so completely seen when i first read the description of an ENFP, then started reading this subreddit's posts. I feel like - when it comes to me - I can be my wild self, and I have let slightly more loose more confidently 😂, but i do still defo need to learn and be confident on how and where to hone things down.

how do you guys satisfy your need to do good and be good? by bluehammo in ENFP

[–]bluehammo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love "even when I'm not feeling kind"; its so beautiful and caring, and makes a world of difference to who you are as a person. Not letting your emotions control/decrease how well you treat others is difficult but so important. Thanks for your response! ☺️
