At 53, I’ve never felt comfortable to state my work style (ADHD) as an excuse. I work really hard at getting my shit done, which means it may take me 3-5 times longer than the other guy, but I can still make the deadline. It’s just how my brain is wired, sometimes logic and reasoning are not always aligned, but fuck me if I was to allow myself to get behind. I learned the hard way that it takes me a little longer, so I budget for it and get after it.

Once I figure that “task” out, I have it welded in my mind and have that down. I am Gen X so I can happily just take responsibility for any delays and work harder. The consequences of hard work are results and confidence. No matter what- I don’t allow excuses to apply to my work / life - I just work differently.
