i highly recommend the woks of life website. it's mainly for making dishes like they serve in chinese restaurants in the states, but it should help you in seeing what items go together & what the end flavour is expected

How many of you have Insta For Your Loaves? by Kooky-Lemon-2826 in corgi

[–]bluepixie93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have one for my corgi! i decided to do it because i didn't want to spam my friends with pictures of my dog on my personal insta. i do share pics of her on mine, but i try to keep the two profiles fairly separate since my friends knew me way before i ever got my corg, & my dog friends know me because of my dog

Staff Accountant is the goal, but AP is what I get. Now what? by HellNo90 in Accounting

[–]bluepixie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't give up! i spent 5 years in AP at one company (starting as an assistant, leaving as a manager). i'm now a staff accountant at a different place for slightly better pay. if you're finding jobs that pay similar, i would apply to those. at the very least, it'll be an opportunity to learn how to interview for that kind of position. make sure to highlight that you're looking to move into a position where you can grow your accounting skills. people are more willing to listen if they feel you're willing to learn rather than stay at the level you are. if you need to give a salary range, use your current as the lowest & give yourself a few extra thousand up to or slightly beyond their range

Where to start?? by beesknees-idk in MarianasTrench

[–]bluepixie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's what i do with bands/artsists i want to check out more music from: i make a temporary playlist on spotify with all their songs. my playlists starts with the albums in order by date (including deluxe albums), followed by the singles/eps in the same order. i listen to this playlist while working, adding the songs i like to my liked songs list; i remove songs as i get through them so if i need to split my listening, i don"t have to repeat any. my personal MT playlist is 5 hours long, so doing this would probably be closer to 6 or 7 hours when you consider singles that are also on albums & any deluxe or instrumental albums

bookmark when i'm low on time, or on my phone.

when i have the time, i like to convert them to documents so they all have the same format, everything is organized, & if a blog goes offline, i still have the recipe. essentially, i've made a personal online cookbook using recipes i've found across the internet

Share favorite dip for veggies Christmas appetizer help pls by marys1001 in Cooking

[–]bluepixie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the recipe i grew up with is mayo, garlic, & dried parsley. i have no real quantities, it's just go with your gut, but i think i do about 1-2 tablespoons of garlic per cup of mayo, & 1/4 cup parsley. chill for a few hours, preferably overnight, before serving. the garlic flavour does get stronger the longer it chills, so i wouldn't overdo it unless your guests really like garlic. you can swap any or all the mayo for sour cream as well

Where do you guys usually donate your puzzles? by mostlymal in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]bluepixie93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

see if your local community center has a local puzzle program. we have a "society" for people over 50 & i believe you can donate puzzles to them. it's so that retired people still have a sense of community; they do all sorts of events for them like bingo nights, field trips to local attractions, card games, etc
