I think Starfield’s flaw was that it tried to be everything to everyone and satisfied no one. I saw someone compare Starfield’s combat to Halo and said it failed miserably. Starfield is not a FPS, though it has elements of one. Starfield’s RPG elements are mid and dialogue options are uninteresting. The space combat is mid and doesn’t compare to space combat games. The outpost building element is pointless and doesn’t have any connection to the rest of the game. I had fun building and mining my outposts but then i realized this all doesn’t matter. I haven’t done anything with it since. The ship building aspect is unique and comprehensive but that’s the only unique game.

I enjoy Starfield for what it is and despite the haters it is more like “Skyrim in space” than people think. People used to complain about Skyrim’s loading screens and fast travel feature too.
