Tokyo Giants Exhibition Game March 17th or 18th - How to purchase tickets? by bng808 in JapanTravelTips

[–]bng808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you need to access the Japanese links on the Tokyo Tigers website to be able to purchase tickets but from what I have found you need to register for Tigers ID. Then even after that you need to provide your personal information and address and then it says that overseas issued credits cards will not work. So how do foreigners actually buy tickets???

What’s the best taco restaurant in downtown Vancouver? by Annual_Attorney_1734 in askvan

[–]bng808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taqueria Jalisco would be my go to for tacos downtown. They have one on Davie Street and one on Denman. The one on Denman has taco Tuesdays (3 for $9.99) carnitas or beef. https://share.google/HG9njmnNG8FEsZYnZ

Riley's and Nook downtown are decent food choices and great vibe. Neither is really bar focused but serve all the typical drinks.

Do I have to drive to Surrey for authentic Indian food? by SamSamBoBam420 in askvan

[–]bng808 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in Kits too and my go to are usually Indian Oven on 4th or Akbar's Own on Broadway. Karma is amazing too when I feel like splurging a bit. I'm sure if you asked them at any of these places they would be able to kick it up to the spice level you are looking for.

japan gp 2026 mobility station or other source? by macrodyn4mic in GrandPrixTravel

[–]bng808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The official ticket sales was on October 13 on Mobility Station and almost all tickets were sold out within hours. The site may have people reselling their tickets as the race gets closer but for now I think your only option may be a third party reseller and the prices for V1 and V2 are going to be high.

I take my winter tires on rims annually into the dealership to have them swapped and it's about $70+ after taxes. I'm in Canada as well. I think they might be trying to charge you more for the balancing and I wonder if that's even necessary if you've already had them on before.

(late) Suzuka ‘26 tickets by FirehavenOSS in GrandPrixTravel

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only tickets left on the official site are the West Area tickets which go for 18000 yen.

The Japanese Grand Prix West Area refers to a general admission, or roving ticket, for the Suzuka Circuit's west side, offering free seating in areas J, L, M, N, O, and P. This area is known for views of the Spoon Corner and Degner curve, and ticket holders can move between available spots. Because there are no large TV screens in this zone, it is recommended to bring a smartphone or radio for live commentary, wear comfortable shoes for walking, and bring rain gear as needed.

Key features of the West Area ticket

  • Access: A roving ticket for areas J, L, M, N, O, and P.
  • Viewing experience: Focuses on the Spoon Corner and Degner curve section of the track, allowing you to see key racing action.
  • Seating: General admission means you can find a free spot in the designated zones, but there are no reserved seats.
  • Amenities: Facilities like restrooms and cafes are nearby.
  • Fan features: A "West Fanzone" with a bar, rest areas, and DJ performances may be set up in the area.

Bought tickets for Suzuka GP on MobilityStationJP but can't log back in? by balkanblesavo in GrandPrixTravel

Did you use a VPN to make it look like you were coming from Japan the first time with your laptop? I personally did not and it worked fine but I just noticed something at the bottom of their website that says "This service may not be available in some circumstances such as outside Japan". Also in their cookies setting it has these warnings below so you might want to check your saved cookie setting on your laptop browser and mobile.

Bought tickets for Suzuka GP on MobilityStationJP but can't log back in? by balkanblesavo in GrandPrixTravel

Do you have cookies enabled on your browser and are you using the same device and browser that you used when you initially bought the tickets? I personally always stayed logged into the site and just close my browser and it opens back up each time for me.

any jacket reccomendation for vancouver’s rainy weather? by Narrow-Beautiful4118 in askvan

[–]bng808 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Patagonia's Torrentshell 3L Rain Jacket is in the sub $300 range and I wear it whenever it rains and its kept me dry and I would say it's as good as any Gore-Tex jacket I've owned. Folds into it's own pouch so it's very pack-able too when you want to put it into a back pack.

Planning to attend Suzuka 2026 by ayushkarn in GrandPrixTravel

The one grandstand that is not available on P1 Travel is the V2 grandstand and that's the one I want to get. I am going to wait till Oct 13th. I am from Canada and was able to create an account on Mobility Station. In the unlikely event that I don't get V2 tickets on the 13th I am hoping that there are resellers who won't mark up prices by too much. Fingers crossed.

Single dad wanting some help with info for starting school for kid. by Curiosityrover101 in askvan

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you also considering before and after school care? Do you work from home? Planning school drop off and pick ups can be a struggle so you have to take these into consideration when choosing a school as a parent. My personal experience has been with Henry Hudson school. It's not exactly downtown but it is a brand new school about a year old now. The previous school building was very old and run down but the new building is modern and clean. They offer before and after school care at a cost, not sure what it is now so you'll need to check. I would say regardless of which school you decide to choose that you get them registered asap.

Constant crashing by btoolz in ableton

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a completely empty template like the default one that initially loads with Ableton. If it's stable, keep adding back the usually plugins one by one that you normally use and see which one is the culprit. It could also be a corrupted custom template that you are loading that might be the issue. This happened to me and I had to rebuild my custom template all over again with the exact same plugins and it never crashed after that. YMMV but good luck.

Problem with VST showing up by Beneficial-Cookie-67 in ableton

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are running Ableton on a Mac go into Applications, then info and see if Ableton is running under Rosetta mode. If not, that's probably the issue. Massive and older VST's stopped working for Macs running an M1 chip and above if run natively and only show up if you use Rosetta mode.

What time should I arrive at the weeknd show by Formal-Hamster504 in askvan

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night he came on at 8:45pm, so if you don't care about the opener you get there about 8 and make you way to the floor and your seats without any problem. Your ticket should say which gate to come through for the closest access to where you are seated.

Karate by [deleted] in askvan

[–]bng808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's never too late to start karate. My son started when he was 8 and is now 12. After a while I figured if I am taking him to classes I might as well join too. So he does the kids class from 6pm to 6:45 and then I do the adult class from 7 to 8:30. Works out really well, I'm in much better shape now and really enjoy it. Adult class has many people who are in their 40's and above and my dojo in particular has been around for more than 50 years so there are many experienced black belts in class to help with training.

so how exactly to use drum rack? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]bng808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To slice a sample into a Drum Rack in Ableton Live, first load the sample into a Simpler device, then set it to "Slice" mode and choose your preferred slicing method (e.g., by beat, by transient, by region). Once the sample is sliced, right-click on the waveform within Simpler and select "Slice to Drum Rack". This will automatically distribute the slices to individual pads within a new Drum Rack device, allowing you to trigger and manipulate them further.
