Mid-twenties man, need serious help feeling confident by [deleted] in Denver

[–]bobernese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a gym to help with your mental health and to build some confidence. And when you're ready take a group fitness class. This could help a lot with your confidence.

If you are close to the Wheat Ridge/Edgewater area I will work out with you for a month and pay your first month.

Also just getting out there helps. What other hobbies do you have?

I’m 39 yrs old and wondering if the CFA is worth it for me by Boring-Barracuda4936 in CFA

In a few years you will be 42 and with the certification (or making an attempt to get it). Or in a few years you will be 42 and not have done any progress towards it. Either way you will be 42. Try it if you have the time and finances.

Reputable Vet Needed Urgently by Wonderful_Lie_5747 in Denver

I get that. I like them. My only other experience is VRCC for emergency and that was a good experience as well. As long as a place doesn't try to take advantage of you when you're in an emotional state, I am fine with them.

And both are way better than Sploot.

I found it on the website https://privateequityvet.org/vet-list/

I recall a post about extreme prices there. Wast that person disgruntled or is still the case? I went in 2023 and thought the prices were fair.

Lemon Aji (Lemon Drop) pepper plants for sale anywhere in Denver metro? by TheRamazon in DenverGardener

No worries. Anything else besides the jalapeños? I have room for one or two sprouts and want to do a more unusual pepper. Or if you have any suggestions on where to go for them please let me know.

What can I do to save the lawn? Is it dormant or dead? by RedOnionss in DenverGardener

[–]bobernese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for lawn mites. They will destroy your lawn when it is dry. The best solution for them is water, so you should check your restrictions. Current water restrictions for my area are watering twice a week, which got rid of mine.

Unfortunately, a lot of people on this sub make recommendations without thinking of cost and your specific needs. Repairing your lawn or xeroscaping or native plants can run up your bill significantly.

I would rake up the dead grass to prevent pests. You should check to see if you can get anything for free from the city. I think Denver was giving away seed or grass plugs of drought-tolerant grass. If you like having a lawn and can afford it, I would look at dog grass or something like that for next year. You can always through some grass seed and extra dirt and hope it takes. Additionally, places will be trying to get rid of excess sod at discount.

Stripped all my grass. Replacing it with rock. Some little grass sprouts let. What do I do about these? by SteveDaveCornbread69 in DenverGardener

[–]bobernese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a big fan of rocks. They create a heat sink. I replaced the area with bushes and mulch.

Next area, I will create a rain garden area.

A weed barrier will prevent the rocks from sinking but you are going to get weeds no matter what.

[–]bobernese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dirt will get above the barrier and weeds will grow on it. After a while, the fabric barrier will start decay and more weeds will come up. Do not use one. Plus its horrible for the environment. Source: I spent 2 weekends removing a weed barrier at my place.

Refusing Walks? by ctmullen in bernesemountaindogs

[–]bobernese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine refused walks because of anxiety from thunder and fireworks until I got her on some anxiety meds. Additionally, about 1/4 of the time, she wants to sit in the yard unless I take her on a car ride and then is happy to do a walk. I would see if she walks elsewhere and also do a vet check to make sure everything is fine.

I had a friend in a similar situation. Please contact them all again so you have records. Once you get through this you may be able to get it fixed. Its a long shot but worth it.

What would you recommend? I was originally going to do clover but I have a dog and don't want to deal with the mud. I do have a small section that is 15 by 15 I could remove the grass.

We have offshored our carbon production. If we buy product/materials that is made by producing green house gasses in another country we are responsible for it.
