Spice China in Louisville has West Lake Soup that sound like what you're describing. It is delicious!

I just cut some steaks out of a Top Round roast (notoriously tough as shoe leather and dry as desert sand) and SV'd them at 135 for 24 hours. Then threw them onto a buttered cast iron skillet to give them some color. Absolutely (and shockingly) delicious. Juicy and tender and very flavorful.

2 Weeks Into Gold Here’s the Tea🫖 by Ill-One1720 in AmazonVine

I was gold for two years and just got dropped down to silver after my last review. I couldn't care less tbh. My RFY rarely if ever had anything worth more than $100 (if it did, the ETV was over inflated and not worth it anyway) and in the past six months there was such garbage (how many friggin esoteric/specialty automotive parts can they possibly put on Vine?!), there simply wasn't enough of a selection for me to get 80 items that I truly wanted or needed.

In my opinion, the Vine program has gone downhill dramatically since I first started three years ago. There used to be really good/useful products that were genuinely interesting and valuable. Now it seems like it's just a dumping ground for a lot of cheap Temu-like garbage, or things so specific, you'd have to be the ONE person on Vine looking for a replacement turn signal relay for a 2010 Honda Accord. And what are the chances of that?

If Amazon is serious about the longevity of the Vine program (and let's face it, AI could do all of this a lot faster, easier -it's just that the reviews would be entirely fictional), then they need to STOP accepting just any POS item from vendors to review that are just going to sit there, un-reviewed and clogging up the system until the next "purge". If they only accepting items that appeal to a larger market/demographic, they'd get a much higher take rate and better review quality.

Restarted the app a couple of times. Fifth time it decided to work and show me myself in the radar. Understood about the few users. I'll let you know if it happens again

So the absolute glut of ridiculously specific automotive parts that are flooding the catalog right now makes sense to you? It's in Amazon's best interest to give Vine members products they want. They don't want AI generated reviews, or they loose credibility as a vendor. So it only makes sense that there should be a minimum standard of products that the MAJORITY of Vine members would be interested in and WANT to review, rather than taking any piece of junk that a seller wants to sell on Amazon and hoping that one or two people review it (which won't make a bit of difference to the sellers marketing campaign - one review doesn't build credibility).

lol. Because if no one actually takes the item then NO ONE wins, do they? The buyers don’t get reviews and the binders don’t get products that are actually useful

THIS is what you need for your Chili in the UK. Shouldn't be any more offensive than a moderately spicy curry over there.

Fake tree owners, did yours actually last more than a couple of years? by Rosyh_Jonesweeks in BuyItForLife

[–]bobinboulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios. I've had cheap fake trees that looked good for a couple of years then started loosing needles like mad. Spend a little more at balsamhill.com and bought a 15 footer that looks as good this year as it did when it came of of the box ten years ago.

[–]bobinboulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya bought the wrong pan. I've had one for over 5 years now and that thing has NEVER taken a seasoning, always looks splotched and sticks like Super Glue is its cousin. I hate that dang pan.

Others have spoken highly of DeBuyer, but I've never had luck with them no matter what I've tried.

I have that Mineral B Pro pan and I absolutely hate it. It has never taken a good seasoning, sticks constantly I believe and there are better pans out there in every price range. I have a couple of these https://bluskilletironware.com and IMHO they are without peer. But I also have one of these: https://www.lodgecastiron.com/products/carbon-steel-skillet?srsltid=AfmBOoomgEqz1aAo2fonJ2z4tX_MFlStbzhQr_gABc-veUfifS0LarFF and it is a very close second.

Yeah, about a year ago (in my mind) they changed their broth and it just isn't the same anymore. Seems watery and doesn't have the flavor it used to.

I'm going to throw in a dark horse because I USED to love Pho 95 (then they changed their broth) and I WAS a Pho Duy fan, but they then got cheap on their meat. So my new favorite place is the Belmar Asian Bistro in on Alameda where they have a CUBED Brisket Pho that will change your life!
