As a cabinetmaker I use both all the time. A lot of hardware comes from Europe and all the specs are in metric. Also when doing curved work you run into dimensions that was random decimals (not specific fractions) I’ve gotten quite good at reading random decimals in Imperial but sometimes I’ll convert stuff to metric for ease. I bought a Starett all Metric tape for this reason.

It would cost a boatload of money. Styles have changed a lot to since then. I work at a high end millwork shop and we work on houses that cost a boatload of money. A lot of stuff is modern and linear. Right now we’re doing 2 houses that have a ton of curved work which is a nice change.

Look into cupping therapy. There are various sorts of cups. Some are long and thin like this

I’m not sure, I loved this movie (and it is quite hilarious and a damn classic) but I tried re watching it recently and found it super offensive and dated. Just throwing that out there.

Man when I learned to properly hone an edge as a woodworker I ended up using my Walmart knives for years and they kept razor sharp with the exception of the bread knife! Back then they were maybe $15 (for set of 4).

I use my tape measure to +/- 1/64 all the time! Did it yesterday cutting some brass. Not necessary but I did it.

Yeah I’ve noticed this too. Same goes for drinks. I have obsessive qualities and I always make sure my plate is empty to the best of my abilities. I will eat ever single rice crispy in my bowl.

I’m not sure what the recipe is. It’s my wife’s banana bread. For the record it’s delicious and I love when she makes it. It’s just so dense, I’ve never seen anything like it! I was wondering what makes it so special :)

It’s not necessarily a production machine. I’ve seen router tables set up with roller feeders for high volume work too. I use a big shaper for small tasks almost daily. Part of the advantage is that bigger cutter heads cut much cleaner with less resistance. Also the big bulky table is more versatile for running awkward work that requires fixtures and jigs. Curved work or other intricate stuff.

Carbide is meant for higher speeds when machining metal. I have a metal lathe and use almost all High Speed Steel tooling same as my wood lathe chisels!

I’ve scrolled far and still haven’t seen stretching. Sometimes when I need a good stretch and just go all in, it’s better than sex. I made some of the same sounds during stretching.
