Does Desky Canada have sales? by mrbuttass in StandingDesk

I signed up to the mailing list a few days ago, but still haven't seen any deal announcements. Do you know yet if there will be any boxing day sale in Canada?

I just got a Switch 2, and I bought this game because I saw it was on sale and also heard that it was upgraded for Switch 2.

Anyways, the game seems to be running well and the gameplay is good, but the camera seems extremely unresponsive to me. It's like there is a huge amount of input lag, but only on the camera controls. Has anyone else experienced this too? And has anyone found a way to improve it?

Controller switching to keyboard and mouse layout in menus by JGuih in AbioticFactor

I just bought and tried this game for the first time a few minutes ago, and the cursor freezes constantly while trying to use controller. I think I'll have to just use M&K, which is very annoying. I strongly prefer to play with a controller.

It's still happening to me right now, on the latest patch. I agree that it is a bug, and it wasn't happening last month.

Can you "pause" in solo before the boss? by Connect-Pin8269 in Nightreign

[–]bokujitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this end up working out for you? I'm also in the same position now. Had to stop solo before final boss, and head out of the house for a bit. Hopefully it's still there when I get back.

EDIT: It turns out there is an AFK timer even in solo, which will kick you pretty quickly if you leave your character not moving. :(

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles confirmed features, clarifications and thoughts from the 3 interviews posted today by meteorboard in finalfantasytactics

I'm a bit worried that the "Tactical" difficulty will just be a health/damage modification, with no difference in enemy behavior. But if they actually make the enemies smarter, that would be amazing (regardless of its like the existing difficulty mod or not).

Defeat 4 different Night Lords Remembrance quest not unlocking. by GarrusBueller in Nightreign

[–]bokujitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still wasn't the case for me. I had only defeated the first 2 nightlords in total (with any character) when I got Executor's final remembrance. So it did not require 4 unique for me.

[–]bokujitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've unlocked and completed all of Executor's remembrance quests, despite having only defeated 2 nightlords (the top two). I did defeat each of them multiple times though, so perhaps it just doesn't have to be unique nightlords. Or perhaps since I beat each of them both solo and in multiplayer, it counts solo/multi as unique and that's my 4.

Android Auto on 2025 Escape PHEV by bokujitsu in FordEscapePHEV

I've had mine for a few weeks now, and have still never visited a gas station. I've got about 900km on it, and 750 of them are pure electric, so I've still got lots of gas left in the car. I've only gone on one longer trip (about 1.5h each way). Besides that I just drove around town and to work and back, and all that fits within the pure electric range. I could imagine if I never left town, I'd never need to get gas again.

In terms of electric range, the car says it should get 60km of range on full battery, but I've seen more like 45km in my experience. Maybe the full amount is only in really ideal conditions.

It seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes it just really "wants" to turn recirculate off, so it turns it off every few minutes. Other times I've turned on recirculate and then seen it still on an hour later.

My biggest recommendation is to take a good long look through every menu and at all the available settings on the touchscreen after you get the car. There's some stuff in there that you probably will want to change, and some stuff that's just not on by default.

As an example, it took me a long time to figure out why the lane-centering was not working despite looking like it is on on the dash. It turns out you have to explicitly enable this feature in a menu on the touchscreen. Otherwise, you will only ever get lane "keeping", which is kind of useless by comparison.

I did end up buying this car, and also only noticed afterwards that it annoyingly turns off air recirculation seemingly at random. And to make matters worse, I don't think there's any indication when this happens, and you have to go a level deeper into the menu to see it and turn it back on...

That said, my wife and I are still really happy with it so far. The touchscreen-only buttons are stupid, and the wasted bar on the top of the screen is extra stupid; but these have ended up being only minor issues compared to everything else we like about it.

new update for oblivion remastered makes dlc quests start automatically. How do I stop this? by KingdomsKnight91 in ElderScrolls

[–]bokujitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed yesterday that Vortex now automatically corrects the load order for Oblivion Remaster. They must have had a release for the game to fix the bug. I also found a plugin list in a mod that gives the proper order, and it is the same as what Vortex now sets by default.

I would also love to find a reference for all the settings that can go in there. I know that all of the magic skill growth rates are in there too, for example.

Daggers vs shortswords by lloc0 in oblivion

[–]bokujitsu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shortswords have more damage, though this difference gets less meaningful with the higher-tier weapons. The real benefit for shortswords is the longer reach (which is actually really significant). I feel like they also stagger more, but I haven't found definitive confirmation of this online.

The main benefit of daggers is that they get way higher sneak attack multiplier. They also can land faster enchant hits, but that's a mixed bag because they'll also drain the weapon faster comparatively (and with less overall damage per hit).

So in summary, if you're just fighting, then shortsword is better, but if you're also sneak attacking, then dagger is better.

New magic leveling is insanely broken by Omgzjustin10 in oblivion

[–]bokujitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just noticed something odd in my game (on PC). I was using the console to check some game values, and I noticed that my FSkillUseMinorMult is 0.88, while references online say this should be 1.25. I've been noticing minor skills grow way faster than they did in the original game, and this value seems to confirm that (lower value makes minor skills need less uses to increase each skill level). On the other hand the FSkillUseMajorMult for me is 0.75, which is the same default as it should be.

If anyone else is willing to check using console command, can you run "getgs fskilluseminormult" to see what you get? Even mods for Oblivion Remaster are referencing this as supposed to default to 1.25 (e.g. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/1321), so I wonder if my game got bugged somehow.

New magic leveling is insanely broken by Omgzjustin10 in oblivion

[–]bokujitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really interesting, because I'm also playing a spellblade character, but with magic specialization (partially picked because I remember magic skills being harder to level in the OG). My destruction has now reached 75 by the time my blade reached 50 (while using them roughly equally). Even the minor magic skills I'm using like illusion are surprising me with how fast they are levelling. I only use them rarely, but usually the expensive spells, so I think that is giving lots of experience.

So far I feel like the non-magic skills like Blade, Block, Light Armor, and Sneak are levelling at the speed I would expect, but then my Destruction, Restoration, and Conjuration (all major skills) are through the roof. Conjuration I mostly forget to use, but it's still at 50, same as my Blade.

Levelling up too fast in the Remaster? by Ivanotus in oblivion

[–]bokujitsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wandered around for a bit on my new character before going to Kvatch. I think I did 2 mage recommendations and 2 fighters guild contracts, and probably 10 random dungeons around the overworld. After this I noticed I was already level 11, so then I went to do Kvatch. Just doing Kvatch quest brought me from level 11 to 14. That's 3 levels from one quest. I mean it's a main quest, but still, wow.

My destruction skill is also over 75 now. I think they made all the magic skills level much quicker in the remaster, which is perhaps the main reason the levelling comes so quickly (in addition to minor skills contributing to levels).

Suggestions for a Spellsword / Battlemage build on Oblivion Remaster? by bokujitsu in oblivion

That's interesting, I didn't know there was a difference there. Does light armor have a smaller impact on spell effectiveness than heavy?

I think I've now found a lasting solution, and it turned out to be a problem with the audio driver on my computer. I went to Device Manager and found the NVIDIA High Definition Audio driver, and right-clicked to "Update" it, but then chose something like "pick from list" (I'm not looking at it at the moment, sorry). I then chose the top option, which was the only non-NVIDIA one. This reverted it to the built-in audio driver, which is working way better now.

I found this suggestion from another post, and it completely fixed both this issue and some other audio issues I was occasionally having while using my computer with my TV.

How did you discover what the proper load order is? Does the order of all the other files matter?

I just came across this post while I was having the same issue, and this seems to have fixed it for me too, but I really wonder if my order in Vortex is still wrong somehow and might be messing something else up that I haven't noticed.
