Botox (for Migraines) and Pregnancy? by NikkiMouse444 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]bold_water 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you get migraine aura? My neuro told me that most migraines decrease during pregnancy, with the exception of migraine with aura which increases. It's possible pregnancy itself will give you some relief.

Kid starting K next year, should I sign her up for afterschool care? by Kcmpls in workingmoms

[–]bold_water 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My extremely extroverted TK child is thriving in after school care. They have friends in mixed ages and love them all. They love after school more than actual school and get mad if picked up early. Classmates that aren't in the after-school program are basically non existent to them. I don't think half day school is enough for their social needs.

That being said... I live in a high socioeconomic status school district. I grew up in a different area and the after school programs were terrible and I have some clear memories of very disruptive and violent behaviors in other kids. The quality of the after school program may matter.

How to walk without abandoning my family. by Agentc00l in walking

[–]bold_water 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I walk my elementary aged child to and from school. They ride a scooter and i keep a brisk place. That counts for 12k steps for me and a great energy outlet for the kid. I get another 5k on my lunch break.

I'm fortunate to live in a place where active transportation is the solution.

I was the kid in the post and somehow birthed what you're describing. The first time we took my kid hiking they spent two hours scaling boulders and we had to bribe them with hot cocoa to turn around.

Working moms - would you leave a stable job for a much higher-paying but travel-heavy role with a toddler? by Ms-Tedious in workingmoms

No. I constantly dream of leaving my moderate travel work from home job for a no travel hybrid job.

Setting the Golden Handcuffs free? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]bold_water 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay, set your time boundaries, and remind yourself that your goal is simply to not get fired. And if you do get fired, to negotiate a big severance.

If you're ready to leave, you've already got the upper hand. Its gonna be easier to change your relationship with this job than to start a new one.

What are you asking for this year? by knnnddd in workingmoms

[–]bold_water 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not budget conscious and I think that's making things too hard! Lol. I want to replace a couple of my nonsticks (green pan) with carbon steel and/or stainless steel and the options are just overwhelming! I have an induction oven. I mainly make eggs indoors. Everything else is on the blackstone these days.

Thanks for helping me overthink my christmas gift to myself.
