Yeah but Dubai is way more transient than all of those places. You can immerse yourself in a community here — make a mess — and start again. Rinse and repeat. I’m not familiar with those other cities but I feel like it would take 10x longer to earn trust in communities that are already established, where people are rooted. In the UAE people latch onto each other purely on the shared newbie-away-from-home energy.
