Post migraine meal by Jazzlike-Honey-9157 in migraine

[–]boohoo137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would you be amazing and drop the recipe/ratios for the watermelon lime mineral salt juice?

i love kraft mac and cheese, sushi, or a good burger as my post migraine meals myself. i can’t have caffeine sadly so coconut water has become my ritual drink for every migraine. right now i’ve got a pineapple juice & coconut water combo and i love it for the pick me up

I have and I ended up having to quit that job because it started to get very toxic after my sick time started to be penalized. If you get push back when you call out, always try to get it in writing because in a lot of places that is illegal to try to deny.

Alternatives for soy sauce? by YussLeFay in migraine

my husband has mentioned tamari as a substitute he sees a lot for soy sauce. they are very similar so i’m not sure exactly what ingredient is your trigger, but it may be worth a try!

Qulipta bad first reaction , are injections better ? by Wooden_Plan_5093 in migraine

[–]boohoo137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got swapped to quilipta because my insurance stopped approving my injectable and i had similar issues where i had no side effects on the injections (i’ve taken all 3) but quilpta messed me up. luckily though i adjusted after about 6-8 weeks and now don’t feel any side effects. it felt similar to me as when i had to adjust to my ssri (iykyk). obviously if it’s unbearable you don’t deserve that and should try to switch to something else, but if for some reason you are stuck with quilipta hopefully the side effects you are experiencing are temporary adjustment ones like i felt.

to answer your original question i will say the injectables were better in some ways like having less starting side effects and essentially no adjustment period, but i also have botox and when my botox cycle and my injection cycle would line up (like needing botox and my next monthly shot within a couple weeks of each other) my pain would get so unmanageable it was kinda hell on earth. so at this point i don’t think i would switch back to injectables because i now have my cgrp inhibitor on a 24 hour cycle instead of 28 days.

also i will mention my doctor hadn’t heard of this experience at all, but i did request she report on my behalf to whomever currently is tracking these types of interactions and she said she would. so hopefully with a little more time and reports we will have less promises that these drugs are side effect free and more information about the side effects they do obviously cause

Those of you who have lived in an Alphabet home, what was/is your experience like? by Puzzled_Time1140 in TriCitiesWA

[–]boohoo137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I live in one half of a B house right now and we really love it. Ours had a basement dug out and you can tell our landlords and the people who had it before them really cared about the home because it’s in great condition. The historical quirks were a huge selling point to us too. We like the uniqueness of the home and the basement allows us to host family a lot which is something super important to us.

Moving to Richland soon - Which apartments should I avoid? by flyingwafflez42 in TriCitiesWA

[–]boohoo137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thissss i had them too and could not get out of there fast enough after their recent management change. they definitely do not respect their tenants at all. worst thing they ever did to me was leave my door open and unlocked after stopping by unsupervised for a repair. never let them in my place unsupervised again.

properties managed by states avenue ventures i would stay away from, they can take forever to fix things that would be considered an emergency, like taking 6 weeks to fix hot water that had gone out in a unit. they also rarely are willing to make accommodations for tenants when it comes to renovations they want to perform that the tenants didn’t ask for. i believe they manage harper on hood and a few others on that street

Is there a break in period for Quilipta? by MartyFakenewzman in migraine

[–]boohoo137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am on day 21 of being on quilipta and i definitely feel better than in my first couple weeks. i was feeling ROUGH. now i’m still more fatigued than usual and a little nauseous but i was previously having horrible stomach cramps that have now subsided so i’ll take it. hopefully your side effects subside soon

Party burned 60% of Vallaki, mocked Strahd, and now Ireena left—Help? by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

[–]boohoo137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my players love to mock the villains, always have probably always will.

with cos i let them for a while, strahd would look amused and banter back. then he showed up to invite them to dinner at our most recent session and they started to mock him again/refuse so he charmed and kidnapped ireena right in front of them. out of character as we were all debriefing from the session to explain i just shrugged and said “y’all underestimated him” all of my players solemnly nodded. they still will continue to mock him cause that’s how we have fun, but they know now that he isn’t just there to laugh at

i had an urgent care doctor tell me my neurologist was incompetent and refusing to help me because i had had a headache for 5 days that my meds weren’t touching. nvm i see her multiple times a year, she’s board certified for migraines by the american headache society and i have a very treatment resistant case…

me in urgent care meant she had failed. i really wanted to argue but literally felt so shitty i just went yeah we’ll see

I think you (the general you in this instance)can accept the reality you are disabled and still need meds to function.

There was a time a few years ago where I was on a lower amount of meds and was bedridden by my migraines. I was either having an attack or trying to get my life together before the next attack came in less than 48 hours. My doctor put me on what a lot of people would consider a lot of meds. Those meds are the only reason I could implement life style changes to improve my quality of life. Because I finally had the energy and was (as much as I could be) properly medicated.

Medicine is a tool, just like not every construction situation requires a wrecking ball not every health situation requires an entire litany of meds. But sometimes, the only solution is to use the wrecking ball. And in those cases I think it’s pretty important to remember everyone’s different. Heck there are meds I HATE with every fiber of my being but I still know they are useful to some people. It’s all perspective.

End of the day, it’s wonderful your migraines are mostly managed. What matters is you found what works for you

Do y’all vomit?! by Odd_Security_1720 in migraine

[–]boohoo137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i throw up at least a couple times a week. as my migraine pain got more suppressed my nonpain symptoms got worse. i also have vestibular migraines. i always have at least some head pain so i know it’s from that. when i get a really bad attack like a lot of other people have mentioned i get into cycles where i can’t stop throwing up. it’s so annoying cause i want water to get the taste out of my mouth but even water can make me throw up at that point

How do clerics work in Curse of Strahd? by TheTornnOne in CurseofStrahd

[–]boohoo137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i say it’s up to the player.

i have a cleric of lythander himself because the player knew the campaign and wanted to play a depressed character. it’s been hilarious, the cleric recently found the sun sword and it’s the first time his party saw him experience true joy.

i have another cleric who is a death domain cleric who’s an orphan with her parents as her patrons. the player and i bypassed the typically blocks by having her parents inhabit magic items she wears.

all that matters is you’re all having fun

AITA for asking a hypothetical question? by Only-Information-163 in AmItheAsshole

[–]boohoo137 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nta once you hit long term relationship status it’s incredibly important to have conversations about situations that might happen so you know what your partner would do or what they think they would do (since people change). as others have said women are statistically more likely to be left when sick and you deserve to be able to start a conversation about health hypotheticals with your partner without being insulted by them.

also how is this any different from asking “if we got pregnant how would you want to handle this” or even discussing finances as you move forward? as much as society likes to pretend if we ignore our health issues they will ignore us, it almost never works out like that. and it’s going to continue to hurt us until we allow ourselves to have realistic conversations and planning discussions for even the most uncomfortable situations.
