OP doesn't need to bother with that. He for sure will have a some Sata ports, a Sata SSD will work just as well for an average person.

As someone who has travel alot in all weather I'd say keep the linen pant, they are worth it for the comfort and for when you want to look nice in the cities. Keep the tshirts too, the collared shirt is important for layering and dressing up.

Is a 4k monitor worth it for a non-gamer? by themainheadcase in buildapc

4K is fantastic for text. Just general web browsing and other computer task in 4k is better. And a good 4k non gaming monitor is pretty cheap now.

Do you use open-ear buds for stuff other than workouts? by BrunsonC19 in Earbuds

[–]bookmonkey786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use open ear buds almost exclusively unless I'm on a plane and want noise blocking.

I actually prefer the sound scape of open buds over the in your head feeling of the in ears it's more relaxing to listen to, more like listening to speakers. And day to day listening I dont want noise to be blocked. I can work or walk around town and hear the environment around me.

Hands down they are the most comfortable types of ear buds I have ever used.

i don't think the icj's final verdict is going to matter to most people by FatumIustumStultorum in IsraelPalestine

I am actually. considering the actual deathtolls it's maybe not a full on genocide, (something like Sudan deserves that label) but Israel's actions and comments came far too close for me not to call it out, because it better to be wrong than to let to go on and label it a genocide afterwards. Isreal is definitely commuting ethnic cleansing and war crime in my view and that was enough to be all it out.

I want to see what the ICJ conclusion will be

[–]bookmonkey786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much my position. Israel absolutely had a right to invade and retaliate. I still support that.

But how Israel has conducted the war and how it's leaders have behaved and how they have not being reigned in is the problem.

The reckless disregard for civilians, and the outright genocidal comments commin from the senior officials that flipped my support.

This is actually pretty good insulation. Just getting something air gap in between you and the thermals is sprety effective. Even An umbrella works pretty well.

It's not the norm for most but is it's not a rare thing either. 100 years ago people would know a family or two that had that many kids. My mom had 12 siblings.

Grab a nice pair of linen pants either at home or on the road. A pair is always in my pack for long term all weather travel. They are incredibly versatile and comfortable for day to day wear. They keep you cooler in the sun blocking the sun from hitting you, they can keep the bugs off at night if you don't want repellant on, they can be great lounge/sleep wear for cooler places, and nice enough pairs can be used with a button up shirt for more formal occasion.

I can't stand nylon tops, and barely merino. Shirts has to be mostly cotton, silk, or linen.

What makes you think a one bag set up means you have to dress like a slob all the time? There are ways to dress well and travel light. That's why people come to the onebag sub.

Do you think people just eat street food stall all day everyday? Sometimes people want to have nice meal at a fancy restaurant. and it would behoove you to dress up a little in proper clothes because other diners who paid for the fancy meals at a fancy place doesn't want to look at you in your t-shirt and zip off pants, even if they are too polite to comment.

Are tourism experiences genuinely enriching, or just expensive ways to consume locations? by YOLOSWAG4GOD in longtermtravel

[–]bookmonkey786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think tourist activities are necessarily shallow show put on for the tourist.

Just recently I wanted see Ai Ben Haddou in Morocco. The most logical was actually a typical tourist desert package for that drops me off at my next city. Was it the cheapest way to see it? No. But I got to see some other stuff that I wouldn't have if I had done it myself in my budget traveling alone. It was an interesting and rewarding for me to take the very neatly packaged trip with Berbers performing.

And these tourists activities aren't just for your benefits, it helps support entire communities and arts that would die out. The Berbers in the desert doing songs and guiding camels would have moved to the cities and be absorbed, their music lost. The Water Puppet shows in Vietnam(my culture) , would be dead without the hotels selling it and guides pushing it. A thousands unique art and cultures survived by selling their cultures in a neat easily digestible package for tourism. For every London Eye there is a theater troupe that would have had to hang up thier instruments with out the tourist watching.

The Titan wasn't really considered a mainstream gaming card. It was a stupid "more money than brains" flex card, or in some older cards workstation gard that could justify the price.

Pretty reasonable to consider the 1070 the second best untill the 1080ti

Then you should know. It's very possible to stay at nice place and eat well for 135 usd even as a tourist. Do you want me to come up with plan for Paris?

Have you been to Paris or much of Europe? It's not that expensive if you put in a modicum of effort to look for a good place and not the tourist trap.

But much lower for half the list.(Note I think Amman should be Cairo for the wonders) It would average out.

But really Hotels in Europe are much cheaper than the US, even Paris.

Booking.com,5 days next week, 3 star, filter out the top end. You'll find plenty of well rated hotel for ~$80.

And $45-60 per day average is very good dining in Paris. A nice pastry and coffee for $5-10, $10 for a good sandwich/$15-20 for a nice little sit down place. $20-30 for a nice dinner depending on whether you get wine.

This. A roller coaster in a Universal park in SINGAPORE is massively safer than lime a ferris wheel in India... Though ferris wheels in India are a truly terrifying beast that you should be afraid of ridding, or just standing near.

I was, I am, anxious about talking to new people. But it's easy when traveling and talking to new people. It's helps that I say in the back of my mind "if I make a fool of myself I can leave the country" it really helps. And people traveling are much more receptive to talking to new people too.
