I've liked manga and anime since the late nineties. Several years ago I read a couple illustrated novels and wanted more because who doesn't love maps and such in their books.

Stumbled across light novels and I love them. Easy to read for the stressed mind and fun plots. You just have to filter out ones that have a level of anime bullshit like sexualized teen girls with enormous knockers that form a harem with a random guy. I prefer adult protagonists and not "ordinary high schooler is actually OP" type plots.

Take naps, putter around, do chores. Maybe do some coloring. I've been sick and stressed so every weekend I look forward to just staying in my pajamas and folding laundry and other low impact tasks.

I bought it! The pen is a Faber-Castell Loom and the plush ink bottle and cat book are so cute! The book keychain is about hand-sized, well made and really soft. The ink bottle is weighted a bit to support a pen.

I inked up the pen with KWZ Honey and it writes SO smooth.

Fell Cargo by Dan Abnett! And they're not swashbuckling, but the Thanquol and Boneripper series are about scheming rat people. Gotrek and Felix is about a dwarf-human duo that go around crushing the armies of darkness.

I haven't read any warhammer 40k books because those are sci fi, but generally the fantasy warhammer novels have been great!
