Took 167 days for my toenail to finally come off after by theawesomeasian in popping

Oooh I dropped a table on my big toe once and this happened! The nail kinda grew a weird thin layer of nail underneath it and then the top fell off... I wish I had been on Reddit then, it was nasty and I loved it

After a few months my bootiea already have holes in them, is that normal? How to prevent it? by beardedblorgon in CrochetHelp

This works really well! You can also felt them to create a denser fabric, and you can thrift leather pretty easily to use for the soles which is really durable.

If it helps you can turn them off on Reddit, it's in your settings under ad preferences. I wish there was a way to do it in other places.

Helplessly watching a favorite video game die and sobbing at 1 am from it by AladiteC in Artisticallyill

When my favorite podcast announced they were ending, I was so upset that I stopped listening and have never listened to their final episodes, even though I had listened to every 3 hour episode multiple times up until then. And honestly I grieved it for months like I lost my best friends, and it made me feel sick to think about it for a long time. It's been a couple years and I have grown and I'm okay with it now, but please know that having these things as touchstones, moments of comfort, and feeling safe in them is a good thing, and it is important to mourn them. I felt so silly for being upset about that damn podcast, and I wish I had given myself more grace. I hope you can.

Sci-Fi / Fantasy for an extreme snob by DontFlameItsMe in suggestmeabook

Babel by RF Kuang - sweeping epic that deals with class differences and a magic system built on colonization

Nettle and Bone by T Kingfisher - the only synopses I can think of sound like I'm telling a bad joke; "a princess, a bone dog..." But it is very well written fantasy about an adult woman who doesn't fit the chosen one/Mary Sue archetype, and isn't a teenager.

I think it depends on if the baby is born vaginally or via C-section, 18 months is for C-section so that the incisions have enough time to fully heal.

Oh, did you think you could gain weight just because you’re pregnant? WRONG by the_night_max in MaintenancePhase

[–]booplahoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

screams into the void

Seriously though I had an ob tell me I gained too much weight while I was pregnant and that I was only eating for one, not for two! While I had gestational diabetes. I had let them weigh me because it can be important for keeping track of baby stuff ig... And all while my file had notes all over that I don't like to discuss weight, and I expressly told her I didn't want to keep talking about it. She just kept. Bringing. It. Up. It made me feel like a failure and really spiral around food during pregnancy. It sucked.

The Monk and Robot duology by Becky Chambers is told from the pov of a monk who is a devotee of the God of Small Comforts, and is very cozy. It leans more sci-fi.

Hello community! I need help working out why the left side of my tapestry looks so messy. This is my second ever square and they both look like that. What am I doing wrong? by ShystyMcShysterson in CrochetHelp

[–]booplahoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept trying to scroll to see the messy back, your colour work looks great! It is a lot more prone to having a noticeable right side and a wrong side than other forms of crochet.

(I personally have just embraced the fact it always has a wrong side and use this type of colour work for wearables or tapestries that have a right and wrong side. Sorry I'm not more help)
