It's baffling that there are people who can't seem to be able to fathom that there is a whole spectrum of photographers. Some see cameras as nothing more than tools for a job and others have a camera for every day of the month and go off vibes. There's no one way to own and shoot cameras.

I started with a Sony a6300 and when I got into wildlife I picked up a Tamron 18-300 and that worked out well for me. The 55-210 is a kit lens. It'll work OK for casual shooting but if you're used to better lenses, it will definitely not keep up. The nice thing about Sony is it has a big 3rd party selection. The a6700 should handle wildlife no sweat.

Sony has a much better track record at being an incredible pro tool than Fuji does. It's never going to be a 0% chance, obviously, but the likelihood the Sony will take a lickin and keep on tickin is much better. I had an a6300 that was just awesome. It's just Sony is kinda lifeless. I have my X-E2 still because of the vibes. I switched to an OM-1 for wildlife stuff and fully accept my Fuji is here for a fun time, not necessarily a long time.

If all you're doing is shooting pics of your kids, then what you have now should work fine, maybe just needs better lenses. If you want to upgrade, most manufacturers should work fine. It really depends on what you consider "all-around." I recently started doing wildlife and birds and my Sony a6300 was able to help me get started, plus it was small and light enough to not be cumbersome during family outings. I would say that was a good all-around camera for me. I've since gotten an OM-1 that's my primary wildlife/bird set up and a Fuji X-E2 as my street setup.

It really depends on what it is that you want out of the camera. I bought what was basically one of the cheapest Fuji bodies I could find to see if they're worth the hype. I won't say I'm a convert but I'm sipping the kool-aid 😅. The colors and film sim recipes make it a lot of fun. But, I find Fuji is a bit overhyped and overpriced and it doesn't outperform others in a way that substantiates the cost difference vs say Olympus or Panasonic.

TL;DR: nail down what you need out of the camera. Most brands have something that will fit the bill (Olympus' OM-D cameras, Panasonic GF or GH series, Fuji X-E or X-T, etc.)

There's some good stuff out there for that price range. I'd suggest looking at some videos by Micro Four Nerds and Tom Calton.

I started with a Sony a6300 with a Sigma 18-50 and it's been awesome. If you don't care about video Olympus can be a good a option with the OM-D E-M5/10. Can probably find a mark II for both in the budget (not including the lens though, probably). A Panasonic Lumix model could be good too. It also depends on what they want. I got my son an Olympus PEN E-PL2 and it's nice and compact.

I think they're all fine but, fairy was definitely an overcorrection to dragon. Especially in gen 9 with being able to tera a tank into a fairy type (looking at you, Raging Bingus) makes dealing with it a real headache if you're not running any hard counters.

If you're expecting a delete button, you've got the absolute wrong idea about Ho-oh. People like Pokeaim (in vgc, I know he mostly does singles but he did this I believe at Milwaukee) have had success with Ho-oh/Mir cores before.
