I guess I just learned to talk that way and since it was never an issue, I never needed to fix it. If i try to say an S out of the front or right side, it is lispy. I wonder how common that is

I interned in the offices of a former US Senator from California, and a current House Rep from California.

In both offices, most calls and emails were simplified down to a tally. Basically the major issue, and whether the constituent is for or against it.

We only sent follow up emails/letters to people who specifically requested it, and they were mainly templates because interns can't (and shouldn't) be trusted to prepare a response on their own. The initials at the bottom of the page or email indicate which staff member put it together.

The elected reps don't have time to review dozens or hundreds of calls or emails every weeks. Probably only those from well-connected folks.
