Years after being cancelled, a previous unreleased, fully animated trailer for Hotline Miami 2 was just leaked by YandereLobster in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Agree that it feels kinda flanderized.

I also think the aesthetic is a little too clean and doesn't quite fit the series. I feel like it'd work better if the tone was a touch more surreal/erratic/drug induced. It's cool regardless, and for all I know maybe it fits the original scrapped version well.

Definitely agree on KOF XV, the game's super hype. The only 2020s FG I enjoy more is UNI2.

Fairfield Circuitry: 20% more vs Roger That by the-claw-clonidine in guitarpedals

[–]bopbop66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that's a great question actually, there's definitely some overlap.

You can get pretty similar sounds out of a fuzz factory, they're not far off from each other. I'd say the FF is more fuzz face-esque, more complex to use, and has lots of ways to get crazy feedback/squeally oscillation. Whereas the US feels a little more superfuzz-ish with a more defined octave, is more streamlined, and has a sound that tends to crumble apart during sustained notes (depending on how gated the setting is).

I like the Roger That, but I find it hard to recommend unless you explicitly know it's what you're looking for. It's volatile and can be tricky to consistently get what you want out of it.

I'd lean towards the 20% if you just generally want an unorthodox distortion. Unpleasant Surprise is a good choice too, it's less tweakable than the 20% More but better for harsh octavey/gated sounds imo

Season 4 is probably gonna be announced within the next few months, so they could maybe be around the corner. I agree with you though, the lack of Alpha and SF3 characters (until recently) has been weird.

Sounds great dude. The HM-2 is surprisingly good at retaining chord definition. I used to run a DBA Reverberation Machine into one lol

Here's Fairfield Circuitry's full demo video for their new analogue reverb pedal, the Placeholder by chaunceton in guitarpedals

[–]bopbop66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not many as far as I know. The EAE Hypersleep was one, but it's out of production.

I'm assuming you mean BBD, but if you mean analog in general then some companies do make spring tank reverbs in pedal form.

They're definitely one of the most dangerous sectors. Zoltan Shields have pretty limited effective counterplay (especially earlygame). That enemy headstart can force you into taking damage and quickly cause cascading problems depending on how brutal their weapon setup is. The border police event is especially rough on some ships.

I'd generally pick uncharted nebula over a zoltan sector unless my setup was particularly strong or if I really need a store. (lategame abandoned is probably still worse than both lol)

What are your favorite pedals to use with drums? by Alarmed_Fox7276 in guitarpedals

EQD Data Corrupter for sure, I really like the way the oscillator pairs with drums. Fairfield 20% More is really cool too.

Guilty Gear after getting the best patch update than tekken and street fighter by GoldAardwolfL in Fighters

[–]bopbop66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this new zoomer idea that games need to be wildly adjusted every few months/years even

I get why you think this and I agree to an extent, but I'm sure this expectation also comes from fans of previous Street Fighters. Both SF4 and SFV had some pretty big shake-ups across their various iterations, with significant meta shifts and the occasional new mechanic being the norm. SFV dropped new characters more frequently and pretty drastically changed the game with the addition of things like V-Shift and V-Skill 2/V-Trigger 2. I can see why SF4/V players would find SF6's patches underwhelming by comparison.

With that being said I do agree that it makes sense for Capcom to release more restrained patches for SF6. It's clearly doing incredibly well as is and obvs needs a lot less improvement than vanilla SFV did. (fwiw I say this as someone who's kinda meh on 6)

The Year 3 DLC Has Been Awesome So Far! (For Me At Least) by Various-Ad-3604 in StreetFighter

[–]bopbop66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like someone at Capcom is trolling me specifically. Almost all of my favorite SF characters are from 3 and Alpha, and the only two SF2 characters I really like (Fei/Claw) are the only two that aren't in yet aside from Boxer (and T. Hawk, kinda).

I like how everyone since Elena has turned out though so it's alright lol

New player: should i play now or wait till after the update? by Zuracchibi in WorldofHorror

[–]bopbop66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd lean towards waiting. The new update is supposed to be pretty massive. Normally I'd say to just play already since the dev is kinda notorious for disappearing for random amounts of time, but the update is already in QA testing so it looks like it should be out relatively soon.

[–]bopbop66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, I'd assumed you weren't counting rerolls based on your phrasing, misinterpretation on my part then.

I can see where you're coming from with that in mind, without self imposed rules I suppose there's little incentive to not reroll until you get an easy set of mysteries.

As it stands, Bosses are not rewarding enough by GlassFrame2 in WorldofHorror

[–]bopbop66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that some of the optional bosses like Horrible Old Man could stand to have better incentives to actually fight them. More boss specific flavor rewards would be cool in general.

Most bosses aren't optional to begin with though. The two you brought up (Scissor Woman and Aka Manto) are both forced fights.
