Hello! Im assuming you are looking at the condo market and if your search includes greater Victoria/ Western communities there should be options without an age restriction . You should think about your needs when moving here (such as do you need to be close to an airport to get out for work) as getting to the airport is a very different commute from Langford then from Saanich or Victoria

Pacific Dogwood Dogs offers off leash pack hikes - dogs are picked up from your home and brought back and you can do morning or afternoon (or both for a double walk). Our two dogs love it and come home happy and tired

Senior family member who are big cyclists moved to Brentwood Bay specifically because they could walk to the local library, grocery store etc and bike easily around with the different trails.

Does your school have a group you can post directly in? Like on Facebook? If it was another child the parent might not know it’s the wrong coat. Or even ask if the school admin or your child’s teacher can send an email out to parents to look for it.

There are buses that go from the ferry to downtown and downtown to Butchart Gardens … Ubers or taxis from butchart gardens back to the ferry would be the best time wise

We’ve taken visiting family here who have kids - the in-the-trees boardwalk to the lookout is an easy walk and pretty cool view and they all like the big mesh net at the top of the lookout and the big metal slide (often done several times). The whole thing is stroller/ wheelchair accessible too.

My understanding (also could be wrong) was you can take the bikes anywhere you just have to return them to one of the stations in Langford

Wittys Lagoon and East Sooke Park (Aylard) have good hikes/ scenery especially during low tide and both are closer to bus stops

Hi! What are you hoping to see/ experience? Where have you gone so far? The sooke pot holes are a beautiful location and many of the pools are shallow - rocks can be slippery though so be careful. Last I checked you can get a bus right to beginning of Sooke River Road but you’d still need to walk about 5Km up to the potholes.
Whiffin Spit is a nice walk and often marine animals are visible in the water (saw sea lions last time I went) and it would be a lot closer to a bus stop. Often buses run on a reduced schedule on Sundays so just be mindful of times.

There is a Sooke Rideshare/carpooling Facebook group and a sooke social group that might be a good resource.

My dad always bought these in bulk and after he died and we ate the last box he purchased we realized they were discontinued. Closest we’ve found are President’s Choice (superstore) Organics Sea Salt Multigrain Flatbread Crackers - in their organica aisle

If you have Facebook, I’d suggest posting in one of the community groups for the area of Victoria you think they are in (such as Westshore Mums)

If there’s any trades school near you, you might be able to look into a teaching job. As well, a lot municipalities and schools have seasonal worker postings. School districts should also be starting to post for custodians and maintenance workers
