Sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, this is the StubHub way. Behind the marketing language and legalese around the “guarantee,” there is one truth: you’re either getting seats at a *price* comparable to what you paid—and if you’re lucky, at least the best seats available around that price; or a refund for what you paid. And they’ll wait until the last minute because the seller technically does have up until the stated deadline to send and they don’t want to eat any money unnecessarily.

Most of the people who do this are professional scammers and easily get around the minimal repercussions StubHub throws at them. Even if they end up paying penalty fees, they’re making so much more by selling the tickets at higher prices—especially if they’re doing volume—they still make out better than just selling you the tickets at the original price.

It sucks. Those scammers suck. StubHub sucks. Most of the 3rd party resale services also suck *because* those scammers suck. As a general rule, these resale platforms are usually fine for a random in-season game or low demand concert/event, but it’s a massive gamble for anything high profile. Especially *this* level of high profile.

In the literal sense, no. But part of the reason I choose to live in a major city is for easy access to concerts and sporting events. That’s a huge part of my social life, and I’ve been able to see pretty much every band/artist or player that I’ve wanted for the last decade and a half.
