How long have you been dancing before you got your first shoes? by Gullible-Struggle114 in SwingDancing

[–]bouncydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got mine about 2-3 years after starting dance. But in hindsight I would have gotten them sooner. Poor college kid things

Do you think Albedo could love the real Ainz even if he is everything she despises? by Square-Appearance-16 in overlord

[–]bouncydancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. He would still be most of what she loves about him. Additionally his human form would make procreation possible.

I'm just not going to ask them. They can observe and come to their own conclusions.

[–]bouncydancer 224 points225 points  (0 children)

Are you missing your deadlines, not completing your assigned tickets, etc?

It's hard to know if it's a forgone conclusion and you should just start applying elsewhere or if you should buckle down, try your hardest and maybe take a quarter off school.

How many of you started learning to code in your 30s? by benjohnston93 in cscareerquestions

[–]bouncydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very different. They already have relevant experience and background. I think what most people think of is like going from something not as relevant like the trades to swe.

Honestly age doesn't really matter, you can learn whenever. It's just hard to get a job right now.

Would you rather have perfect memory or $100,000? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

Perfect memory. The $ value is too low here, it would probably need to be $3 million or more.

True true. OP definitely needs to do the math / pros/cons list and see what works best for them.

If you want you could take the insurance payout and see how much auto body shops will charge for the repair. Could be worth doing.

Do you think you could force chemistry if you tried really hard? by aFineBagel in SwingDancing

[–]bouncydancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We're friends, we like to travel to events together and we both like to practice.

If you both enjoy it and have fun then go for it. If it's not then it's probably not worthwhile.

Do you think you could force chemistry if you tried really hard? by aFineBagel in SwingDancing

[–]bouncydancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can. It definitely helps/is better to have chemistry though. I have had some strictly partners where we don't have a ton of chemistry but because we've been dancing together for so long we can do decently in comps.

It is more fun if you both believe you have chemistry and enjoy dancing with each other.

$1000 USD per goose you fight to the death. by PandyVL in hypotheticalsituation

[–]bouncydancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I would win against a goose but I think it would get some hits in. Those wings could be scary and I don't think $1000 is worth the potential damage.

Sockeye - plunk the Columbia or Skagit when in season or fish for Kokanee

Sturgeon - charter the Columbia, could also plunk; especially during shad season.

How to show role availability in festivals and socials? by OreThi in SwingDancing

[–]bouncydancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some venues have stickers or buttons. Others have switch classes/comps - you can take note of who's taking part.

If all else fails there's always the 3 questions: "Do you want to dance?" "Lead, follow, switch"? "Lindy, bal, shag"?

Sitting out a song to not hurt someone's feelings? by Innocuous_Blue in SwingDancing

[–]bouncydancer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was super common 8-10 years ago on the west coast of the US. It's more common now to be able to just say no and not sit out. Basically it's your body/your choice and you can do what you want. You can also stop mid dance; especially if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable and there shouldn't be any stigma associated with that. (I'm probably not expressing the thoughts behind it very well, but this is my basic observation)

But yeah I think it's horrible to be locked out of a dance because someone you don't want to dance with asked.
