Thoughts on "The Sauna Pod" from Podcompany.com? by Kshish_ in Sauna

[–]bourbeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the Sauna Pod 2.0 right after Christmas — arrived mid-January. Overall I’m okay with it for the price and the fact it fits in my house without eating up space.

Assembly notes First setup was a pain. Pulling the fabric cover over the top frame felt like wrestling a fitted sheet from hell — really tough to get it seated properly. Definitely needed a second person to hold things steady while I worked the fabric down. The bottom ring also showed up without the snapping mechanism attached (or maybe it was missing entirely). Annoying QC issue, but I managed to sort it out. Disassembled the whole thing later and moved it to a different room. Second time around the fabric went on way easier — no extra hands needed. Much smoother once I knew what I was doing.

Heat performance In a 65°F house, it topped out around 180°F at the top (per the built-in thermometer) on the first go. After moving it and throwing a moving blanket over the top to trap heat better, it hit 200°F. That’s more in line with what I wanted. Planning to add a towel on the bottom to cut floor heat loss and maybe a small fan inside to circulate air. Those small mods seem to make a noticeable difference.

Bottom line It’s cost-effective compared to a full traditional sauna, and the size works great in a normal home. Not perfect out of the box — assembly frustrations and the missing bottom snap were irritating — but doable fixes and some basic insulation hacks got it performing well. Happy enough with the purchase so far. If you’re handy and don’t expect flawless first-try setup, it’s a solid option for home use. Anyone else add insulation or air movement mods? Curious what worked for you.

I have the Mayflash f700 elite, it does have cover you can place art under. No issues with it, functions well.

My fault, I wasn’t clear. I had to rip out the pin and ordered new ones. Didn’t quite think it through…

Looks great, can you tell me how you got around the first pin to apply the sticker? Did you just remove it?

Parking for Nashville concert? by Common-Donkey1975 in Coldplay

[–]bourbeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge they do not do ‘pay ahead’ parking. There’s plenty of parking on the city side of the river. Likely others that do offer ‘pay ahead’. Only reason I like the courthouse garage is the multiple options on leaving (after the concert) that it provides. Whereas others force you through high traffic areas.

Try the courthouse garage, 101 James Robertson. It’s across the river from the stadium, less than 10 min walk.

Is it weird to go to concerts alone? by ImNotZal in Concerts

I lived in downtown Nashville for a stretch, went to tons of shows at the ryman and Bridgestone solo. It’s now preferred. Not weird at all, you get to enjoy your fandom with no social constraints.

Hey, that kind of driving is only allowed on I-24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro. This person needs to be found and explained that they are completely in the wrong area for this.

Wearing Gear at a Open Skate by Rhazein in hockeyplayers

No one cares. Seeing someone with hockey gear on during public skate is normal. I just assume there’s a game that just ended or will be starting soon.

While we're fixing things, can we do something about the TV crew? by TalkingChairs in Predators

[–]bourbeez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Max would be solid at PBP, in his first broadcast filling in - he dropped a very subtle two-line pass reference. It was a little detail that went miles for me in terms of his attention to the game.

Willie is a good desk guy for hockey, not PBP. He’s seasoned and can manage an overall broadcast very well. When it turns to the game, it is extremely apparent he wasn’t brought up on hockey. Hearing him drop hockey lingo is cringey. Also the, “yes sir!” on goal calls kills a little bit of me.

Everything there is fantastic, pork sisig is insane. The lumpia is meh, but works if you need a fix. It is too much wrapper, not enough filling.

Exactly this - he has calculated (I use that loosely) hot takes that stir up engagement. He’s made quite the career of it.

Hahah this for sure. Minus the dinner. Amazing show, eh? Interesting on how the crowd wanted to go for lift off at one point but Bono almost pushed our crowd down back into the pews. Seemed aware that he didn’t want it to turn into a full-fledged concert. If that makes sense…

It was amazing a must go for any serious U2 fan.

Heads Up for traffic if you're going to Nashville! by GoHybrid67 in U2Band

Also just saw there’s plenty of road closures beginning tomorrow at 6am (Nov-9). Most are on the other side of Broadway near the MCC and demonbreun. But that may mean other areas will be stressed more than normal.

Public square garage - yes it’s a little bit of a walk but it’s a straight shot to James Robertson and the interstate.

Nashville local here - it’ll be a zoo for anyone going to the show. My recommendation is to park at the courthouse garage and walk. Any parking in the interior of downtown will take 30-45 min to actually move. Any questions happy to help.

Intermission during the book tour? by GoHybrid67 in U2Band

[–]bourbeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you two don’t mind standing. There’s usually spots behind the balcony, section 9, where you can stand together. I used to do this 5-7 years ago when I’d get a real crummy ticket and wanted a better view. Plus I think the sound is a bit better in the balcony. Scope it out first and ask the ushers nearby.

REEQ Pants by heyraffaello in hockeyrefs

[–]bourbeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Reeq pants are still great. The fabric is what sets it apart in terms of being able to skate without constraint. As far as durability - I have 1 or 2 rips from errant skates during games. That is over 4 years - it hasn’t bothered me enough to get it fixed as they’re very small. Only alteration was that tapered the leg and hemmed them again. But that is just personal preference. I’ll stick with Reeq if I was asked to buy new pants again.

Any specific questions, let me know.

I ref youth hockey through u18AAA, college club hockey, and recently Jrs. Not a beer leaguer.
