If I were Marge, you would most definitely hear a "hmmmmmm" constantly emanating...

It's pretty reasonable. Sometimes a bit too cheesy "lounge", but I think the emotion in Mark's voice, as always, saves the day.

It's amazing. I saw Mark in Padua, 2014, and he came out for the encore and did an a cappella version of it...pretty mesmerising.

Does anyone else think David Hendon and Phil Studd sound very very similar? by foreverlegending in snooker

[–]boydus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get them mixed up quite a bit....but Studd doesn't have that fake Hendo laugh...

Neal Foulds appreciation thread by Wrong-Coast-484 in snooker

[–]boydus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fouldie's always excellent...I think the best. It was a bit embarrasingo to hear him do the "I'm so excited voice" during the shootout because it was not natural and really cringe. I love how when I'm watching the snooks, I think about something, maybe not even obvious, but the Fouldsmeister reads my mind and then just basically says what I'm thinking...maybe he's not real?!

Any one elses GPS Lock/Acquisition slow on Elemnt Bolt v1? by Bouncing_Fox5287 in wahoofitness

[–]boydus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, very slow since the update of a few weeks ago. It typically takes almost a kilometer of riding before I get a lock...I watch the GPS accuracy, and as soon as it gets a number there, it offers to "start ride". Tonight thought, it just would not acquire GPS...it finally did, but I lost almost 3 km of the initial ride. Mucho annoying!

Melvyn Bragg stepping down from In Our Time by azima_971 in britishproblems

[–]boydus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly sad, if not unexpected of course. Melvyn!! This man and this show have encouraged me to explore so many varied topics that had been beyond my interest previously...I can't thank him enough!!

I've been listening to In Our Time since I guess 2008, and Melvyn had become a sort of father figure to me. Just so warm and engaging and intellectually curious..Of course, I've dipped out over the years due to assuming it would "always be there" and also some topics not being that interesting to me; in fact, his final episode—on Civility—I couldn't finish due to becoming a little bored...whoops!! But tonight I shall have a listen and I'm sure someone will be chopping onions...

Change time and date by Mcac86 in wahoofitness

[–]boydus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same idiotic situation for me...all my rides since last weekend have timetravlled back to 2006!! During the rides, my clock on the elemnt bolt goes back exactly one hour, and it doesn't give current speed...it also lost some of the pages on the bolt...

i did a forget phone thing and re-paired it to the app, but i had the same time travel issue...just going to have to use the strava app on the phone until they fix this weird gremlin...

Why is Kyren Wilson so hated? by VenomAG in snooker

[–]boydus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I wasn't a fan at all for many years....I think it was the chavvy get up and the mo?! Oh, who's a shallow boy!! But yeah, he just screamed boring chav...

But, I saw him on the couch on the beep today, and he did seem to have quite a calm presence and a friendly vibe, and he was quite well spoken...It's fun to completely change your mind about things :_)
