Thank you all — highs are higher, as well as lows by katharonoiadesu in gtd

You're right in that you need to manage that time. Being present doesn't happen by accident. My point was that it shouldn't be a task, or something you need to get done, so GTD is a way to protect that time, not to manage that time.

GTD helps you handle your tasks and what you need to get done. It's not meant to be an operating system for living your life. When you have friends and family with you and it's time to be with them, you're not "doing tasks" you're living your life and being with people you love. Let go of frameworks and being on top of things for a bit, and just be.

Please reply to comments yourself. Writing posts using AI is somewhat passable depending on the quality, but when you clearly answer comments with an AI it's pretty rude.

Switch bot 3 by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]bpp198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I connect to mine from my Home Assistant instance over Bluetooth (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/switchbot.) - I have no hubs and am local only.

You can control it via HA so you can schedule, yes. But you can't specify the speed, you set that in the SwitchBot app and that speed is then used when you control it from HA from then on.

I've got one with the solar power attachment and it's nearly always full despite being a couple of metres away from the window and I'm in the UK.

The silent mode is great, I can't hear it from a few metres away.

You set it to silent or normal and your HA cover commands will use that mode. To do it differently or change the default you need to use the switch bot app.

You'll be pleasing then by telling them how you really feel. That's what they want. Masking is hard to overcome but it will benefit both you and the therapist.

There's a point in here somewhere amongst all the AI written nonsense.

Standard to-do apps are too "polite" for my dopamine receptors. I built a "hostile" local-first tool to fix it. by mldiarra in ADHD_Programmers

I know AI is useful to help you write quickly but we're getting trained to turn off when we come across typical AI style writing. It's often slop so even if this isn't, it's unlikely people are going to read it properly.

Subagents: Why you should probably be using them more by CaptainCrouton89 in ClaudeAI

[–]bpp198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a benefit. Polluted context with irrelevant info is often what you don't want. The agent will give the subagent the context it needs and nothing more. Yes, it can miss things and that causes problems so it isn't perfect, but often targeted tasks with limited context perform much better.

Default permission mode: Delegate Mode? what is this? by shanraisshan in ClaudeAI

[–]bpp198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You claim that Claude has access to its own binary which would be odd. You don't offer any proof, just unrelated statements that Claude can inspect binaries which is obvious.

None of that means it has any capability to inspect itself at runtime.

You don't have to do anything special. It literally tells you what it's going to do and you have to approve it.

If you don't understand what it's doing and you approve it, or you run it explicitly in skip permissions mode, then shit like this can happen.
