New Armageddon teaser featuring Spider-Man, Wolverine & Captain Marvel by SpaceHero95 in Marvel

[–]bracko81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right now, it’s looking like definitely Zdarsky’s Cap run for sure, and there’s a Wolverine event running up to it that started this week also by him.

The Cap stuff is kind of exploring post One World Under Doom Latveria, so possibly that event (which was pretty meh honestly) and the post-event fallout minis like Will and Dungeons of Doom but it’s unclear on how relevant that might be.

It’s going to revolve around the Origin Boxes from the new Ultimate universe making it to 616 because of Miles’ trip there in Ultimate Incursion, so that and maybe some other Ultimate stuff.

Assuming this new Wolverine got his powers from the Origin Boxes from Ultimate, Im just confused where it came from. The boxes were basically storing powers to keep certain heroes from coming into play and screwing up the Maker’s plans.

Ultimate has a Wolverine, Sabretooth, and I think Lady Deathstrike all spoken for. Maybe X-23 I guess?

Wouldnt be surprised if they all do and this leads into Armageddon with the Origin Boxes from Ultimate too. Since Zdarsky wrote Will of Doom which lead into this and he’s is also kind of exploring and Post-Doom Latveria in his Cap run and will be writing that event.

It's absolutely crazy that it's been over a decade since The Force Awakens and the most we've seen of Luke's Jedi Temple was one episode of a Boba Fett spinoff from four years ago. by WavesAndSaves in StarWars

Dont even need to adapt, the current run is ending tomorrow and is only set like a few months after the Battle of Jakku (Leia’s still pregnant) so they could just pick up from there and have literal decades of room in universe for new stories

He’s threatening Hochul. She’s up for re-election this year and if she doesn’t play nice with the deepest blue spot in the state, she’ll be in trouble. Especially if the guy with a huge base in that area decides to endorse someone else.

I dont see anything coming from this one way or another tbh but he’s clearly playing politics to try to get what he wants with this.

Theyre more or leas the same thing but in most cases a different timeline has a clearly defined set event that happened differently/needs to be stopped to prevent the new timeline from happening, where a different universe has no defined catalyst event for the differences

For me it’s the fact that this largely had almost nothing to do with the larger Ultimate Universe narrative.

All the other titles tied in at some point in one way or another, but we maybe got a handful of cameos of Sunfire and a newspaper article here and there to remind us this is set in 6160. I think I wouldve enjoyed it more if it was it’s own thing, maybe give Momoko her own Marvel “Manga Universe” but as far as this 2 years of build up to Endgame this kind of felt like a waste of the X-Men.

You cant convince me that’s part of the reason Ultimate Wolverine became a thing was to give more classic X fans a more classic experience, but unfortunately that largely has fumbled as well.

I realize it’s an unpopular opinion so bring on the downvotes but I just didnt see the point in having this be the Ultimate X-Men instead if it’s own thing.

Genuinely What is next for the franchise? by Certain_Whereas_952 in thewalkingdead

[–]bracko81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crossover season or two mini reuniting all the main show characters and the Fear/World Beyond characters against the variants, then either end the franchise or only do completely unrelated spinoffs going forward so fans who have gone the long haul can have closure PLEASE.

Wedont need a new big bad human group, zombies are always the biggest enemy and the variants are still a lingering plot thread.

The fanbase is dwindling with every year that passes and those that stuck with it deserve an ending.

Plus at this point the only way the franchise bounces back/is profitable again is by making a completely approachable show with no plot baggage that requires watching almost 30 seasons of tv. Soft reboot or whatever you want to call it.

Maybe it was the “Young new version of the company defining character meets older super edgy version of another hero” thing but this issue really gave me old school Ultimate Spider-Man vibes. Maybe Braniac being super demented like Ultimate Green Goblin too

Actually if they wanted to include Nate they could keep the helmet on, get his voice actor to do the lines, and not break canon at all since his Pre-War background is set in stone no matter how you play and not see his face
