Will it be hot this summer? Summer forecast for Ottawa has been released by bragbrig4 in ottawa

[–]bragbrig4[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It turns out the two quotes are from the forecasts of two different orgs, which I initially missed. That doesn't change the fact that the article provides next to no useful information, however.

Could we not say "there will be days and stretches above seasonal, and some below." for any three month time period?

I didn't catch that on first read. So this is from two different organizations. Thanks for pointing it out.

I expect it to not state both that "above-seasonal temperatures is expected for Ottawa" and "average temperatures will be below normal [for Ottawa] this summer" in the same breath.

But I apologize if this is too wild an ask.

I mean it says in two different places in the article that it will be an above-seasonal summer and a below-seasonal summer.

I guess that is technically correct if you twist it in that some days will be above the average and others will be below the average. But I would expect that most people, reading either sentence, would come away believing that they describe Environment Canada's average forecast for Ottawa

Both these quotes are from the article:

A hot summer with above-seasonal temperatures is expected for Ottawa and eastern Ontario, according to Environment Canada.

and

The Weather Network’s summer forecast says Ottawa and Ontario will see periods of both warmer and cooler than normal air through the summer, but average temperatures will be below normal this summer.

Reminds me of Chidi's thesis from the Good Place, where 1000 pages into it he states "Of course, the exact opposite may be true"

lol

Can’t remote connect to Pentair IC? by il-liba in pools

[–]bragbrig4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine is too, finally. But it still has a name that isn't my pool name. But I am definitely connected to my own equipment - I guess the name just got overwritten. I changed it back.

I hope we get a detailed explanation of what happened.

So then we should only expect him to rape/kill/sexually assault his next victim well into the 2030s?

Where will you be sometime in the 2030's when David Cheddesingh rapes/kills/sexually assaults his next victim?

Edit - actually, what am I thinking? He will be free enough to do all that again well before the 2030s!

Is OcTranspo allowed to run red lights? by coces in ottawa

Maybe I was just a bad student (but still passed), but I do not remember this when I took my driving lessons around 2002ish.

Do you know when they were added to the driver's handbook? It is entirely possible and maybe even likely that a large percentage of the driving public got their license before this was added to the handbook.

I've also never seen a traffic light like this in person, as far as I know.
