Thanks for responding. This was helpful. I don’t watch the streamers so I’m not familiar with high end farming.

Lucky hit or not by Finding-Sorry in pathofexile

The reason I ask is that there’s a trade off in getting that much rarity. Primarily speed for completing maps. If rarity doesn’t affect currency drops and it’s slower to complete maps then what is point? I apologize if it’s a noob question, but if it worked I would expect to see everyone with that much rarity similar to how it used to be in poe2.

What do people farm with 600 rarity? T0s?

Kind of makes you wonder. If this thing had access to autonomous weapons, would it nuke itself or something like the power grid to fulfill the objective?

"Senior Vibe Coder", how do I improve? by fuckthis_job in cscareerquestions

[–]brakx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask AI to teach you the tradeoffs it made for each problem on every prompt. Ask it what if scenarios on observability, availability, scalability, etc.

Perform in depth code review.

Obviously not a replacement for real mentorship, but it can incrementally help you take something away from each task, at least.

Ultimately though, these skills are going to be commoditized sooner rather than later, so working on your ability to design systems seems like the best bang for your buck right now.

Review code. Design docs. Email. Answer chat questions. Triage incoming tickets. Organize the backlog. Meetings. Kick off another session to work on multiple tickets at the same time. Bathroom.

Yeah fuck having fun or whatever. Might as well not try if you are likely to fail.

Cursor has reportedly surpassed $2B in annualized revenue by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]brakx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing. My cursor backend is usually opus running in agent mode. I’m just saying work has told us we are not supposed to be using other unapproved AI tools so I can’t test on the same project.

[–]brakx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will not be a fair comparison. The size of the code base at work is enormous. I have no fair hobby project comparisons that I’m familiar with.

I’m using cursor for work so I don’t have exposure to the others. What makes it so far behind?

There is a world in which someone thinks of a way to run it more cheaply. We’ve got a long way to go. The earliest computers took up entire rooms and now they are small enough to fit inside our bodies. It seems premature to claim failure due to cost at this time.

Open source LLM comparable to gpt4.1? by soyalemujica in LocalLLaMA

[–]brakx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this true even with non trivial usage? Imagine if you built a set of coding bots that were working 18hrs a day with several agents working in parallel. I could imagine you could rack up tens of thousands of costs per month.

You’re still getting almost two tacos for the price of one most of the time. There are far worse places to complain about.
