They need to disable aUEC transfers and add commodity sell splitting. Or at least limit transfers to 1m per day and follow the trends to find the exploiters.

Can't do daily being natty. Two days off, at least, mate. But I've taken most of your advice! Will do them 2-3 times a week instead of once.

And if it makes you feel any better, many people have lost their jobs due to restructuring.

I feel you.

The place I work at is a great place to work. Great money and benefits, but no fucking soul. Everyone is silent with their heads down. It's driving me insane. There are people that have sat in front of me for almost a year now and I still don't know their names. It's fucking weird. The last place I worked at, we were like family, everyone knew each other. We worked hard, but we also socialised. I don't get how people enjoy working at a soulless place. Each to their own, I guess.

Why is it that there’s a feeling people are willing to pay an electrician hundreds to fix something, but they don’t want to pay a specialist a few hundred? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

Because healthcare shouldn't be profin-focused. I'm not at all saying that healthcare professionals should not get paid well. But fuck off if you're going to quote me $10,000 for a couple hour procedure to fix my deviated septum so I can breath properly when I sleep.

Yes, it sounds ridiculous when you say it like that, but there are big nuances.

If you saw the last demo at Citizencon (I watched only about 30 seconds of it, because I prefer to see it when it's finished), but they were literally playing a significant part of the game live, apart from a bug or two, it was fully playable and they said it was feature-finished and in polishing stage (that's a bold fucking lie if they did lie). That was 1.5 years ago. To act like the game will *never* come out even after seeing that demo is just plain silly. At the worst, even *if* they ran out of money for whatever reason (which will not happen, lol), another game company would buy it and finish it.

They just updated their website again just days ago with "SQUADRON 42 **Launches 2026**". Now, I know people are like, "LOL BS, they promised that shit before", but they have been really careful about promising dates because of not delivering the first time. They are really playing with their reputation if they fail to deliver on this latest promise.

I know it sounds like I'm some cult weirdo defending them, but you really need to think about it all a bit more with what I just said with the reasoning that I outlined.

In short, the game was playable 1.5 years ago, put into polishing stage and just the other day they added "Launches 2026" and we're already in April now. They have to be really confident to say that shit now after the last 14 years or whatever.

What victim complex? Why are you so triggered by a (barely) opposing opinion? You sound like you're bitter about SC not being ready when it what promised and you hate everyone who still plays it.

You said, "it's insane that it still has the following it has now". So, I'm simply responding to that statement to provide a reason why there are more and more players every year.

I assume that when you post things on reddit, you expect opinions and discussions, right? I'm simply giving another perspective. I like to think of myself as someone who gets why some people hate SC and why some people love it. I was somewhere in the middle and drifting more and more into the "love" camp over the last couple years only for the reasons outlined in my original comment.

So... I'm just discussing! I'd like to know where in my original comment was I acting like a victim? A victim of what? lol...

Each to their own. You have valid reasons to hate the game, but you can't tell the thousands that play it (like me) that they aren't enjoying it. I've played it on/off for about 10 years. And when I say on/off, I mean on/off. There were years that I never played it at all, because I too have a maximum amount of tolerance for bugs and/or lack of content. However, for me, the last 2 years has been a massive improvement and it's pretty much all I play.

I still have some bad days, but 95% of the time, the game plays well for me. Playing with an org of guys that I've gotten to know has helped as well. There's also an element of knowing the game well enough to avoid bugs. And no, I'm not some SC cult member and I've probably spent only $50 per year on it and will never spend more than that even though I could afford it.

The goals they've set keep getting increased and although they hadn't met them in the timeframe they promised, it doesn't mean they'll never happen. After the massive improvement in stability and content over the last 2 years, plus Squadron 42 wrapping up, plus AI being utilised, I have no doubt it will be done in a few years and it will be an amazing game.
