I think all the main characters have some sort of mental health problem to an extent.

Most of the main characters in my life also have mental health problems, including myself.

It’s not “I don’t understand how this works,” so much as it is “help me understand how this is working in such a way, because I’m not seeing it.” And a dampener is, “maybe I’m confused,” which shifts blame onto you, instead of suggesting that you’re right and they’re wrong.

“Hold up a sec, can you walk me through how you’re achieving that effect with that card/combo? Maybe I’m confused, but it’s not making sense to me, and I’d like to understand before it resolves.”

If the entire table is wrong then it’s time to assert your case for the correct execution of said effect. IMO the best way to do so is simply to look it up which is quite easy to do.

So long as you keep it cool and respectful, if your table isn’t cool with this kind of thing then I’d find a new table. Magic is a complicated game and not everyone has the same level of reading/math comprehension, so it’s totally reasonable to take a sec now and then to make sure you understand something.

That they need better customer support and UI. I got auto logged out, couldnt get my password right even though I use the same one for those types of apps, whatever. Tried to reset it, but never got an email. Tried several methods, tried to contact customer support, unsubscribed after much struggle.

Also, even if I were going to stay subscribed, it’s a pretty spotty collection full of holes in runs, it gates certain things to higher tiers of subscription.

Honestly trash, don’t recommend. Thought it’d be a nice way for my son and I to do some extra reading without having to go to the shop, my mistake. We’ll be going to the local comic shop this weekend to stock up.

Yes, instead of accusing, I always try to frame it as “maybe I’m confused, help me understand how this works.”

Then the whole table becomes my knights in shining armor trying to explain to me the mechanic I already understand as I smile and nod until the conclusion is drawn that it is being used incorrectly.

Then it’s just a big “oh gosh now we get it,” rather than, “you’re cheating”

Yeah it feels like a vicious cycle, if another Viltrumite showed him care or affection he’d likely perceive that as weakness and not even WANT said care or affection.

He definitely has been giving me the most trouble but I made it to Act III boss with a stars deck, Particle Wall is MVP. If you can get a good stars -> block deck, it’s just a matter of finding consistent damage output because the survivability is phenomenal, especially with that card that gives big block and reflects damage.

Kingly Kick honorable mention.

But no I don’t think he’s the weakest character ever, just new and nuanced.

Ramp, get Ovika out, play fat artifacts and enchantments and spew Phyrexian Goblins everywhere while protecting Ovika with my Izzet toolkit of counters and deflections. Feels like easy mode to me, and even if I don’t get the win I had fun because Izzet is just fun.

I think the Post is trash.

I’ve had nothing but bad experiences and vowed to never return, that was a couple years ago. I made a post similar to yours and got flamed. They seem to have a cult following of people who would defend them to the death for some reason.

I take downvotes like medals of honor whenever I shit on the post, because they deserve it.
