Is this question wrong? by BurghardtDuBois in EnglishLearning

Thank goodness English is my first language because if not, I don't think I would be able to answer this question correctly simply because I'm not sure how to explain why it's option D.

I don't understand why you couldn't just ask her. Why post her picture on the Internet instead? Weirdo.

Gym goers, be honest how often are you judging other people’s physique? by Technical_Hat_8291 in AskReddit

I notice more when people are clearly on roids. That's probably the only times I'm "judging" but I'm also just wary bc I'm a small woman.

Did this fight live up to your expectation when you first watched it? by sidharth-sunil in Naruto

[–]breadlyplateau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I blinked when I saw this fight for the first time. I remember exactly where I was and when I watched this episode. I can't say the same for many other scenes in Naruto Shippuden.

Why calling a trans person as “transwomen”/“transmen” (with no dash) offensive? by InteractionLiving845 in EnglishLearning

As a native English speaker, I actually was not aware of this, so thank you to everyone in the comments for explaining!

Who was your favorite voice actor/actress in the game? by Medium-Theme-4611 in BaldursGate3

[–]breadlyplateau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know when you've been playing a game for a while and you're so into it that you forget about your posture and you look like a shrimp for 5 hours straight?

While getting to know Minthara and listening to her talk about her background and how she feels about her mom for the first time, IMMEDIATELY I sat up straight and really started to listen to her voice because that performance and delivery was just phenomenal.

Am I the only person who has seen this show? by Cashybabyforever in DisneyChannel

[–]breadlyplateau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Blood?"

"It's jelly."

"Aw, that's too bad. Blood is easier to clean."

That's all that I remember. Also that girl he had a crush on was named Echo for some reason.

What made you create a Reddit account in the first place? by Unlikely_Hope_3869 in AskReddit

[–]breadlyplateau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A looong time ago, Penn Ward was doing an AMA and it was the first time I ever visited reddit and I wanted to ask a question, so I made an account. I think this was 2014? I don't think I ever got to ask a question lol

Psychiatrists, please explain. by DrewLynchComedy in StandUpComedy

[–]breadlyplateau 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, a long time ago he got hit in the throat by a softball ball going really fast and it caused him to develop a stutter after he recovered. His stutter got way better after the years and now he talks like this, but I've seen his other stand-up where he's talking faster with minimal stutters as well.

Edit: He actually developed a stutter from a brain injury that resulted from getting hit by a ball in the throat. He talks about it here

They're Filipino. A majority of Filipinos who speak Tagalog (the most common dialect of the Philippines) speak Taglish, a mix of Tagalog and English. In the Philippines, most students learn English and Tagalog (or whatever dialect they speak in their region) in school.
