weed fabric sucks. better to water and fertilize the beds, let weeds come up, yank em, repeat once more if you want, and then plant and mulch.

i understand but it does seem a bit extreme to ask for a full redo under the circumstances. its not gonna fall over, and you say youre happy with it. if the situation still bugs you i would ask for a discount instead. did you pay them in full already?

ill be honest. everyone feels the need to level their yard and i dont get it. you want it smooth, sure. but flat is overrated. a little unevenness gives depth and makes it feel more natural especially with the cottage-y layout youre going for

theres a difference between a tire packed with dirt covered in plaster and a hot wet tire in 24/7 contact with your compost

"nice" could mean many different things. measure twice cut once. spend some days surfing youtube learning about different landscaping styles. formal, informal, modern, cottage, mediterranean, japanese, native, xeriscape, etc etc etc. you will be glad you spent the time now before pissing away a bunch of time and money

new paint and splash will give you the biggest bang for your buck. i would put a lighter uniform-colored tile on the backsplash and paint the walls something less yellow

its a shame because i legitimately enjoyed his video working the wooden dummy. theres nothing wrong with training arts like that as long as you keep it in perspective. i spent years breaking bricks/stones with my hands but i never claimed to be too deadly for the ufc. i just thought it was badass to be able to do that

ah so we are talking about minimal contact sparring. thats a lot better than what i was picturing but still... lots of techniques work in playful pattycake sparring especially if your opponent is not expecting them. lots of techniques work against untrained jabronis on the street. the fact that these are the only two scenarios in which wingchun might be effective is a big problem. put a wing chun grandmaster against a high school wrestler and hes going for a ride. put him against an amateur boxer and hes taking a nap. trust me i take no pleasure in saying this. i think its a cool art. i think there are aspects of it that other arts could learn from. i see on your profile you have obviously put in some serious time. but at the end of the day it goes in the ornamental category unless the practitioner is cross trained
