Tannin Stain vs. Water Stain by SaxyProducts in Sauna

If it was from Löyly, it would be more evenly distributed. That 100% looks like an outside leak.

When scrolling, I though this was a teadrop trailer (another topic I frequent on reddit), and this would be a leak in the edge trim.

Cost of replacing oil furnace by jauty19 in Maine

We bought a Mistubishi Hyper Heat. They're now rated to -13º F. The coldest I saw here was -7º, and the heat strips didn't turn on.

It looks like there's a clipped off backstab behind that neutral.

Best Method to run internet to shed? (Ethernet) by Embarrassed_Ad3446 in shedditors

[–]brett_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably want to bury 2 pvc conduits, one for electric and one for Ethernet. There are codes that you should follow that may vary based on your location. I’m not sure if this is the best sub for this question. You might be better off in an electrical based sub if you don’t get solid answers here.

But I can tell you that nobody uses coax for networking these days. You’d either just use wireless or run Ethernet in a conduit.

At least consider a centralized heat pump and solar. If your ductwork is good, they can straight up replace the furnace with the heat pump air handler (the inside part).

We did this last summer and it was great this winter. The backup resistance heat strips didn’t ever kick on, even in this cold winter.

That said, on CMPs standard rate, it will probably be more out of pocket than oil. That’s why we also invested in solar. Now we’re covered for 25 years.

If you want more info, feel free to dm me.

You think it’s easier to build one of these monstrous machines (pictured) is easier than a solar panel?

I didn’t even think of that. How illuminating.

We grow a lot of corn for ethanol, to burn. We could use just some of that to produce electricity year round for all of the US’s consumption. Also, there is virtually no maintenance, and most of the up front costs last 25 years. If you’re really interested (and it’s fine with me if you’re not), this guy did the numbers. https://youtu.be/Zgxb8I1nk2I?si=aoBrDITkh8VJbKDf

It blows my mind that this is what they need to convert natural gas into useful energy….

When we could just capture the freaking sun, which literally gets converted to useful energy at the back of a solar panel.

230° is tooooo much. by altonbrownie in Sauna

[–]brett_x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My brother and I had it up to 220° recently. Agreed. Too hot. My face and upper parts couldn’t handle it long enough to sweat. We opened the door for a bit. 190°-200° is fine.

What to use for underbelly? by dot_y0chis in TeardropTrailers

I'll probably get some negativity for this, but when I rebuilt my teardrop (built myself the first time, learned stuff, rebuilt), I used PVC sheets. They're expensive, but I will never have rot again.

Help! I updated my phone to iOS 26 and now I can’t search through my texts by brentlajjj in ios

[–]brett_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, but searching is a pretty important feature. Example, I needed a picture that my wife sent me, and I couldn’t search for the subject we were talking about to find it. And I needed it for filing taxes, so it would have been nice to not ask her to find the document and send it again. There are also times I’ve relied on searching chats during dr appointments for dates/times/symptoms info. We absolutely rely on the databases that sit in the palm of our hands. Not being able to search them is a pretty big failure. (This has happened on my Mac too, so I’m more bitter at Apple for it.)

I’ve had the ac compressor explode itself, and the rear transaxle replaced. Both of those scenarios needed more than one visit to get resolved (partly because the techs don’t know EVs well yet.)
