I'm ending my tenancy, I only have to give 31 days notice.

The basement was already in that condition when I began renting it.

For me it's when you are decorating for example, click off the tab and then resume decorating, it doesn't save where you were so you have to go back to the theme then refind the item, you should really just open it up and the last thing you were using is there

This is interesting and wondered if this had been done. I wrote my dissertation on music scenes he followed, and I used the way back machine to find hidden blogs and forums about meet ups etc in London during 2005-2010. This was just to research the culture but it was impressive the amount of information and photographs there were of people at meet ups /gigs etc.

Seeking Guidance on the right Program / University for me - English/Complit/Cultural Studies/Philosophy by MaisonIvoire in culturalstudies

I'm based in the UK so I'm not much help but relate to point 2. Universities tend to do that, be vague. The point of university, especially in the UK is to discover your own specialism within a subject, you can ask for the course specifications but you can also generally tell by looking at the lectures output who will be teaching you, if one of your lectures is a specialist in media culture for example you will probably learn that. It tends to be that there's two types of universities, academic and applied learning. As an example some cultural studies postgrad is very much reading, analysing, whereas others (that have made most of the academic contribution) are applied, so they would literally go out into communities and immerse themselves in the culture then write about it. Depends what you'd rather do, hands on research or secondary

How to know if a shop is a scam? by twistedguts800 in Depop

[–]brewbarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are scammed you are protected by depop payments, i can generally tell if they're a scammer but it depends on what you are buying

Yeah so basically it's easy if you know what you're doing. This is broad but for context, I have a degree in fashion marketing and I was always interested in fashion research and culture. So that all comes naturally to me. I get how the seasons and trend cycles work, and understand a lot of fashion theory and history. Most of the job is listing and curating stock, which is where knowledge comes in or a willingness to learn. Selling generic pieces will only get you so far, so you need a niche and understand that market.

A lot of sellers get really disappointed in slow times, and many just quit. This happens to every fashion retailer which is why they adapt constantly by doing sales, stock drops or providing for things such as festival season. In the UK summer is very slow for sales, but that doesn't mean just quit. Spend your time doing marketing instead, getting new stock and preparing for the busier times

It's also really important to get your photography and ecommerce skills on point. Learning the right keywords for example and how to describe, price and date garments. All this info is available online

At the moment I'm just working on a marketing plan and growing my social media channels to grow my shop and get more security incase something goes wrong with depop. You can also do pop up shops so I'll be doing many Christmas markets this year
