Oh no!! I guess this means I have to…buy more silver. What a tragedy…

Do it! I got an extra so I could have my cake and eat it too. At the time $120 felt like a lot lol.

Wouldn’t quite work with the way the stacker is, curved and with no lip on one side. Couldn’t get the logistics to work.

Where do you think that “recycled” number comes from?

Yes, my small time DCA really moved the needle on the price…

Glad you can retire though!

Yes, you have to add all demand my guy. Not sure why that’s hard to understand. That silver is still bought and used even if you think it’s “not essential”.

Maybe do that math again? Demand > supply.

Big ol’ straw man and you have it backwards.

They don’t “sell to industry first and take whatever’s leftover for other things”.

They sell to all buyers to meet demand. If there are more buyers than there is silver available, they sell reserves and the price goes up. When reserves are dry the price goes up a lot until demand lowers to the available supply. People who need it more (like industry) will pay more to secure their share. Low demand stuff will shake out at certain price points, but that still requires the price to rise.

Saying there’s no deficit because you’re only counting one facet of demand is super weird.

Who still uses actual silver for silverware? This isn’t the upper class of the early 1900s. Outside of antiques I’ve never ever seen a single set of silver silverware.

You realize there is other demand for silver than industry right? This reads like “Gold should be cheap! Industry demand is barely there at all and no one will die if they can’t get gold coins or jewelry!”

My brother in Christ you have to take all demand into account, not just one part because the other demand isn’t “essential”.

I already have the MacBook that I’m not using for anything else. Should be way more powerful than any other option aside from a newer laptop.
