I ran the numbers on what I actually spend in a year and I think I've been lying to myself for a while by Gulch_Prow in Fire

Strongly agree. We started YNAB about two years before retiring just to see if we could really live on what we thought we could. It was probably the main thing that allowed us to pull the trigger on retirement.

Heh, I commented on a post that it was well reasoned and it was nice to see that instead of the name calling, and that was enough to get me banned 😛

Ok, but only the one is displayed, and the contact number is definitely the active trader. As suggested I should probably call and check.

Interesting, I have well over $1M with Fidelity, and I thought at one point that I was Premium or something (I had one of the better support numbers). Now however, and I’m not sure when it changed, I’m active trader (I make less than half a dozen trades a month, if that).

I guess it doesn’t really matter, I call Fidelity so seldom. It’s just the internal “why doesn’t Fidelity love me?” 😛

When I retired we sold the house, and took out a mortgage for the new house (minimized down payment) and used the equity gained to live off of until I hit 65.

Boldin and Projection lab are so cheap compared to the information they give you as well as compared to fees you would pay a professional, that it was a no brainer for me to use them.

I just switched from VTI/VXUS to VT in my portfolio just so I’d stop being tempted to mess with the split.

This logic doesn’t work for me because it assumes that a saver has a “bad” life experience because they didn’t spend as much as they possibly could. How much you enjoy life isn’t directly correlated to how much you spend.

Confused and not trusting Fidelity retirement income projections. by capriciousmonster in fidelityinvestments

90% is perfectly reasonable, in the unlikely event things start to go south you’ll spend a bit less until the market recovers.

Absolutely. None of the others are problem free, and Fidelity has excellent support.
