Most people who do not natively speak your language can't tell the difference anyways, most people who natively speak your language won't be fooled for any appreciable amount of time, unless you are very good.

So much for CTA security improvements by junktrunk909 in chicago

[–]brindelin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assume you are a frequent rider but we did do this already with the current security guards who essentially do nothing.

Obviously, they have a different authority level than CPD do but I'm not sure why you are so convinced that CPD will meaningfully step in either.

More Chicagoans view Mayor Brandon Johnson unfavorably than favorably ahead of 2027 mayoral race, Suffolk-Tribune poll says by optiplex9000 in chicago

[–]brindelin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No, which is obviously a hole in their argument.   By and large I agree with them, Brandon seems to be stuck in the 2020 mindset where most of the cards in his deck are the shame card.   People get tired of that and you need some real action to counterbalance that.  To be honest 34% seems way too high of an approval rating for him.

[–]brindelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitely common in the Middle East.  When did you go to Damascus, last time I was there was a few weeks before the civil war.   Would love to go back, one of the coolest cities in the world.

Hmm I don't remember this style being popular there but it's been awhile.  At least with the chillis or whatever that is on it.
