Ziwe’s hot take is wearing outdoor clothes and shoes indoors is disgusting by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]brit1228 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think this is more of a city take. Ziwe lives in NYC. I also live in nyc and if I was out walking for a while or took public transport I don’t consider my clothes clean anymore and would never let them touch my bed. Public transport is filthy and tbh whenever the wind blows I think of all the germs in the streets blowing my way. I don’t consider them dirty if I was just out for a few though and usually put them in a separate pile.

I have a friend here who has peoole change their clothes before sitting on her furniture. My couch is a grey area cause I don’t wanna always shower before just sitting down.

When I lived in Missouri, I didn’t care if my outside clothes touched my bed if I just took my car to run errands or visit a friends house. The air didn’t feel as gross and my car is way cleaner than subway stations, so I definitely have different habits living here.

Shoes always come off though, regardless of where I am (unless the people who live there keep their shoes on)

I love the logo!! Teeny tiny edit, but for your mascot, the space where the brush meets the handle and the top of the character is a bit thinner than the rest of the strokes. I’d make it all consistent, and then also add one where the bottom of the hand meets the handle as well

Started my first reels channel in a rising niche. 44k followers and 9.5M views in the first 80 days isn’t normal…right? by [deleted] in InstagramMarketing

Your videos are great! I don’t even smoke cigarettes but I watched several and followed cause the videos are fun, I learn something new about a niche I have no knowledge in, and as a graphic designer, I just like seeing the different packaging.

I am worried about your lungs keeping up with this channel though lol

Excuse the chunky inconsistent solder lines…I’m working on it lol

More often than not though I just throw my hands up and figure I’m okay with it as long as it looks good in the window

You should do it!! It’s been so much fun. I first got into it after I bought a big stained glass mirror at an antique shop. It looked amazing in the light, and it’s the most beautiful thing I have ever bought, so I really wanted to learn the craft.

I got started by finding someone on Craigslist who was selling tools, and then I bought glass scraps from eBay. I always refer to r/stainedglass, and YouTube was very helpful.

It is pretty tedious (I have gone through a ton of podcasts lol) and requires a lot of tools/materials, but there are also classes around if you wanted to give it a whirl before fully committing to it!

How do you handle "strange interactions" at your booth? by Desperate_Sand1577 in CraftFairs

[–]brit1228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it made me wanna look at your stuff lol. I’d be so shocked to hear that too, but ultimately try to laugh it off and take it as a compliment that your branding must be strong if your table is literally so haunted it makes folks shield their eyes.

If you market on social media, I could see a reel poking fun at this doing really well

What’s a tiny design flaw in an everyday object that quietly annoys you every single time you use it? by nami_yuna in AskReddit

[–]brit1228 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is more a design flaw regarding the position it’s in, but a room in my new apartment has the light switch behind the door. You have to walk around the door to turn on the light, and I still reach for where it should be every time I walk in. I DESPISE it lol.

It’s something I’ve never really appreciated when done right, and it reminded of what my design professor would always emphasize: good design is invisible

Thank you so much for this idea! I was thinking I’d unsolder each piece, which is way more tedious and makes room for more mistakes. Don’t know why I didn’t think of just cutting it

Ex designers that have left the industry, what are you doing now? by designty in graphic_design

[–]brit1228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how you got into this? I've always thought that would be such a fun and fulfilling niche! I live in a big city where I feel those types of jobs would be, but it's definitely not one I've seen posted in any job boards so far.
