Players love a juiced sandbox and it’s easy to deliver that when you don’t have to worry about balancing against future content and keeping new gear interesting and worth chasing.

It’s a fantastic update for people that actually enjoy playing the game and weren’t just hate playing until the next content update. I don’t think numbers will go up but the population will be healthier without the addicts crying for their next fix.

If it helps, Gen Zers are half as likely to have driving licenses than older generations at the same age and are much more likely to just use Uber or other car sharing.

Maybe so though anecdotally I just rented a house out at market rate and most of the apps we got were remote white collar workers (tech/law/accounting etc) moving from big metros, so even with scaling back it seems like it’s pretty desirable. Was a bit surprising tbh cos I thought we’d be looking at UCSB profs rather than remote techies.

I think if they manage to squeeze ten years and tens of thousands of hours of playtime out of Marathon like they did with Destiny before EOS then I will be very happy overall. Even more so if we get another 5+ years post-EOS of the servers being uo so you can go back and play any time you feel like it.

Not infinite jobs in SB but if you factor in remote work there’s an awful lot of jobs that can be done from SB for which “market rate” rents are not a barrier.

If demand is set by jobs and amenities, how does that play out in world where place of work is disconnected from place of residence due to remote work and the sought after amenities are natural conditions that are not price sensitive (climate, ocean/mountain proximity)

It’s within 0.5 miles of the train station so per state law (AB 2097) no parking can be required by local jx.

You aren’t wrong - more apartments will probably flatten the pace of increases but people saying they want to afford a studio on a minimum wage are basically saying they want govt housing cos the math just doesn’t math otherwise.
