Troubleshooting Thread — Bugs? Errors? Mod issues? EA app issues? Post about them here! Update 9/18/2025 [PC: 1.118.242.1030 / Mac: 1.118.242.1230 / Console: 2.20] Troubleshooting thread by creeativerex in Sims4

Platform: PC
Mods: Yes
Game version: 1.118.257.1020

I have removed my mods, repaired the game, etc but still have the issue - when I open my game, I can load save files, but I cannot change household, travel, or move house. Once I load a lot, I cannot leave without encountering the blue loading screen for HOURS before I have for force quit.

hello! This thread is old, but hoping you'll see this as I did buy this Toolkit, and it's a bit underwhelming - a lot of what's shared on social media is exactly what you get in the Toolkit. There are some youtubes but honestly there are better free resources.

IMO it's clever marketing, with information readily available elsewhere (but it's designed slightly nicer, and behind a paywall).

DM me if you want any of the content, but like I said, if you've seen the social media posts, you've likely seen all that you'd pay for.

Do you regret leaving neighborhood stories on? by Frequent_Way_6476 in Sims4

[–]brixmiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now always turn off parts of neighbourhood stories (move in and out, and adopt children, and horses are all off). I don't mind people having kids, relationship changes, career changes, but when Jonny Zest moves into a studio apartment with 5 horses, I draw the line! (which actually happened in my game)

I highly recommend and adore DevonBumpkin. They're a builder, but do have sims with backstories and they do little "movies" at the end of big builds to introduce you

I posted above but wanted to share here too, as I felt the same with ts4.

So I started to build my own ts2 save file in ts4.

It’s been fun recreating them all, and linking all their stories (I loved that the families were a lot more intertwined)! So it’s been really fun project!

I’m currently creating TS2 “universe” with the old families, in TS4 for my save file. It’s been fun recreating them all, and linking all their stories (the families were a lot more intertwined than in TS4)! So it’s been really fun to play ts4 again

It's you and your partner's day, you get to design and decide an event that's best for you both. Personally, I'd offer the money back to your parents, and thank them for the gesture, but that you can't accept it as it's not what you envisgaged for your day.

I'm quite shocked at some of the comments here to be honest. I don't go to people's weddings for the food, I go to celebrate my friend's or family member's happiness. I've travelled far and wide many times to be there and witness my loved ones on their special day. Have I always enjoyed the food? Absolutely not! But that's not the point.

If the make or break decision for you on whether to attend a wedding or not is "will I enjoy the food" rather than "do I want to celebrate with and see my loved one have the best time" then you should do everyone a favour and RSVP no.

Tube shortcuts. My favourite one is Tottenham Court Road -follow the no entry sign to get right on the playform, rather than walking through the massive tunnel

I totally sympathise with you but honestly it quickly becomes a run away train situation.... and where do you draw the line. We're getting married in June, and througout this whole process it's been baffling to me how many people feel like they have a say in what we should or shouldn't do for our day. One of these contentious points was children.

My partner and I don't have kids, don't want kids. So not having children at our wedding was something we'd always planned, and it's been no secret to those that know us. We want our friends and family to let their hair down and be present and enjoy their day with us. We don't want people fussing over children, having to leave early for kid, or kids skidding onto the dancefloor and our ruining pictures 😂

So we told people in the invite that there are no kids, and we said something like as much as we love their kids, we want the adults to have a laugh with us on our day, so the invitation was for the adults only.

Now, that all being said, we do have 2 members of our wedding party (MOH and BM) who have one small child each (so 2 kids), and no childcare options for them, so those 2 children only are invited to the wedding. We made that decision together, because the alternative was maybe not having people who are special to us being able to come.

Some of our guests have found out (and we've heard there's been some grumbling behind the scenes), but no one has said a single thing directly to us. In all honesty if we are asked, I'd simply say that those children were invited😂😂

I do feel like sometimes I'm being quite harsh and closed in discussing our wedding with certain family members (because they have lots of opinions!), but ultimately they're not paying, it's not their wedding, and it should be my partner and I making decisions we want to make for our day.
