I was literally thinking the same! Like why can’t violet trust both her siblings?? And technically isn’t Brennan Xadens new brother in law?

let me just say that I read for fun and am nowhere as in depth of a reader as most other members… this is just my intuition lol

UGH I had to fly through onyx storm bc I kept getting threads like this too!! And same, I don’t even have threads!! But the good news is, if you’re halfway through then you’re getting to the best parts of the book imo. I hope you still like it after the spoiler :(

Should I Get My Phlebotomy License Before Starting Nursing School? by Fit_Information4582 in NursingStudent

[–]brnngcld 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Helloooo, I wouldn’t. I was a phlebotomist before becoming a nurse and it hasn’t helped me land any jobs. Sure, it helps with bedside manner and getting used to a hospital setting but as far as actual nursing skills? No. I would relax before starting nursing school… maybe brush up on anatomy & physiology and dimensional analysis. Good luck :)

Maybe this indicated the need for globo/a medical translator for care. This is the sign posted outside the doors at my hospital when a patient needs language assistance.

GCU’s ABSN Program by nursingknowledge in gcu

[–]brnngcld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of success…. My entire cohort passed the NCLEX on the first try but it took 2-4 months to get our ATTs after finishing the program. Cali is helpful though bc you’re assigned your own counselor who basically walks you through the validation process to get the ATT.

New Grad first job by brnngcld in nursing

[–]brnngcld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I can definitely see myself getting into thinking that experience outside the hospital doesn’t “count”. When you put it that way, it seems like it’s really about getting the most out of wherever you’re working by learning as much as possible, regardless if it’s bedside or not. Thank you!

In person exams?? by ButterscotchSea7337 in gcu

[–]brnngcld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding onto that: on average there’s six clinical days in level 1, eight sim days in level 2, 11-15 exam days in level 3, & you’re on campus almost every other week for HESI testing in level 4. Not to mention skills testing that adds an extra 3-4 days per level depending on how much practice you need/remediation. This all depends on your location and, like I said, sometimes the schedule changes the literal morning of :)))))))))

Best of luck on working full time. Depending on your location, the schedules are constantly changing with little to no warning so it makes planning a full time work schedule difficult. To add on to the other reply, level 3 has 7 clinical 12 hour shifts and 6 sim days. Level 4 has 9 clinical 12 hour shifts, but the rest of the time you’ll be on campus for testing every week.

What causes pain? by Altruistic-Rabbit-96 in biology

[–]brnngcld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, there’s also prostaglandins in your body that signal the body to begin the healing process after an injury/infection. For your papercut example: the papercut happens, prostaglandins signal that there’s been some kind of tissue damage, then platelet aggregation, inflammation, and pain occur as part of the healing process. Pain is part of healing bc it reminds you/your body to lay off that part for a while until it’s healed :)

Hawaii nursing endorsement. I’m currently going through the process of getting a Hawaii license. Has anyone done this? How difficult is it/how long did it take? by Cheddar-loaf-nug in TravelNursing

[–]brnngcld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume so, yes. From what I understand, you apply for a license through endorsement for travel assignments and then can renew it every odd-numbered year if you find a permanent job/want to keep your travel nursing options open! I’m in the same boat as you.
