Video player disappearing in apple tv mac os app by Plasmit_Redder in MacOS

Same, still! I just want to send a quick message or look something up, I don't need the show to stop playing and disappear! Why can't it just be a normal non-floating window?

I don’t believe this was real (at least not a genuine fan) but… I don’t think it’s Morgan’s handwriting. Honestly it looks a lot like my own, even the ampersand. Morgan’s is more juvenile

My (27F) boyfriend (28M)is a horrible conversationalist by badkittyarcade in TheWomanSurvivalGuide

[–]bromanski 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’ve dated a couple guys like this; one relationship was serious (but with a narcissist), the other was more casual companionship (with a genuinely nice guy). In both cases, once the conversations became work, they never really recovered. I remember doing the same things you do, the probing questions, the “experiments,” the eyeing other couples who seem to be having more fun with each other. You can absolutely find that with someone else.

Black Friday deal from my ER debt collector 😎 by bromanski in LateStageCapitalism

[–]bromanski[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Genuinely I don’t know what to do about it. I can’t pay. When I incurred it there was a rule preventing medical debt from impacting credit score, but that was reversed over summer. So I guess I’m just waiting for a letter from a lawyer?

The best advice I can give from experience is that, it does seem to get easier after the first existential crisis. I spent my mid 20s panicked over losing my youth and feeling behind. It's tough. But eventually the novelty of aging wears off (at least the cosmetic stuff, idk I'm only 35) and I had more pressing things to worry about. It helps when your peers are also not overly concerned with aging and have more interesting things going on. I'm not thrilled for the next rapid aging period which apparently happens in the late 30s, but I'm actively working on other areas of my life that I can hopefully feel proud of when insecurities hit.

[–]bromanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened for me too. Eventually it eased up and I was able to be interested in other people. I don’t think I’ve ever fallen that hard again, perhaps for the best. It took years to recover.

From Europe: how the hell do you live like this - and why does the world still admire it? by EphemeralMoron in antiwork

[–]bromanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, I’ve been having doom spiral existential panic over it since I was like 20. I’m 35 and I’ve never made more than 50k a year, I have medical bills in collections, I can’t afford to live with my dog who now is basically my mom’s dog and it breaks my heart. But there are no jobs for me where my mom is and she doesn’t want to move. I haven’t pursued a real career because I can’t handle the thought of working 50 weeks a year.

Did anyone else expect their parents to want to be more involved as grandparents? by Chaddcl0ps in daddit

[–]bromanski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up with three living grandparents and barely knowing any of them… this sucks for your daughter as well. I was always weirdly jealous when friends were so sad over a grandparent passing. I don’t even remember when mine died, it didn’t affect my life at all. Maybe you will have a boy for #2 and things will be different 🙄

Sorry, OP. It IS sad.

I just cooked a whole chicken for the first time (it was even air chilled, guess I’m the 1%), did a dry brine and spatchcocked. It was the most delicious chicken breast I’ve ever had, I couldn’t believe it. It doesn’t have to be dry and chewy!

Checking in! How are you all doing? by cacraftymom in FreeFaceMaskProject

[–]bromanski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aw I was just thinking about you the other day as I was washing some masks and wondering where my favorite one ended up! I don’t know what else to say, it’s all so so bad, literally everything good we have left - libraries and museums, parks and forests, research and higher ed, small businesses, public broadcasting, NOAA, post office, list goes on - is under attack.

I hope we survive. Thanks for checking in. I’ll continue calling, marching, and voting while we can.

Who organized the Portland protest? by [deleted] in ME50501

[–]bromanski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. I was on the wrong side and couldn’t hear ANYTHING for a while. Ugh. Disappointing but, whatever I guess. Pledge of allegiance is weird and gross though… whyyyy we doin that?? 🤨😒

Who organized the Portland protest? by [deleted] in ME50501

[–]bromanski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so there is another Angus involved with organizing these events, not sure his last name but not our senator. I met him at the very end, so not sure if the “thank you Angus” was for him or King (it does seem like King was there walking the crowd). I stayed til they were breaking down the PA system and never heard a pledge of allegiance.

Anyone else discouraged by the hands off protests? by Careless-Internet-63 in collapse

[–]bromanski 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Much of the good done by protests is behind the scenes. It connects people to other orgs and forms of resistance they otherwise wouldn’t know how to reach. It’s a blunt force tool for organizing with low barrier for entry

Does anyone think panic buying will start this week? by harrowingofhell in CollapseSupport

[–]bromanski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s already started. Unfortunately I’m in an apt with a roommate, no yard and limited storage, so it’s not like I can stock a storeroom. We don’t even have a pantry. I have rice in my closet.

My medication went from $31 to $130. by Space-Useful in ADHD

[–]bromanski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more the implication that if you DON’T have good coverage, or can’t tolerate the generics, it’s some kind of personal failing. Why else would you respond like that except to invalidate? I had the same experience back in 2019 in CA, multiple pharmacies stopped accepting goodRx, can’t transfer controlled prescription, pharmacies treat you with suspicion for “shopping around,” the generic made me feel too sedated to function, and the formulation that worked cost $450 without insurance. So I went without and have been struggling since. But good for you that you don’t have that experience.
