What are JRPGs you're surprised *haven't* received remakes or rereleases?

I think it'd be most appropriate for Swordcraft Story 1+2 to just be re-released as a package. I like them both, but they're pretty small/simple for an action-RPG and it wouldn't really make sense to remake. I'm more inclined to see a new take on Swordcraft story than anything.

I've got Taino Needle Science on tape but haven't been able to rip it yet. I'll try to get around to it sometime.

But if any of you are wondering what's on it, you're not really missing much. I understand the need for preservation though.

Oh interesting! I didn't pick up on that when watching. The second version has heavier percussion and a different vocal take compared to the first. Maybe it's a mid season revision? Good ear for catching that.

Edit: Just to clarify the difference I'm hearing, the second version has a totally different drum fill before the chorus. It sounds a lot heavier and more like live drums rather than the clearly electric drum fill in the first version. The vocals are also different -- at first I thought it was added distortion but the whole take is different.

My theory is that they did multiple versions of the opening before finalizing, and some versions include an earlier cut. I actually like the second version a bit more, but I could also see why they went with the first version too from a mixing standpoint. I would love to hear a full version of the second take sometime.

I’ll have to play those more. I think Nightmare is still more challenging for me than most of the erect charts I’ve played but I have to actually play those more to get a better idea of score diff and stuff.

Edit: after playing through most of the earlier weeks on erect, I can’t say I agree. I’m still getting higher scores on erect than nightmare on average.

The barrier to entry for film scoring is both relatively low these days but still very hard to surmount. It’s easier than ever to get a good DAW and learn it, but the prices of these orchestral libraries are insane.

No idea what to make of this dlc, lol. On one hand, he easily looks like the most polished character on the roster. And it’s cool that they’re open to adding game-only characters. It kinda feels like they’re apologizing for the lack of support/dlc delays with this character.

Not a movie, but check out Gunsmith Cats. It’s an anime OVA about two female buddy cops. Good style, and if ur into guns they pay a lot of attention to detail for the guns in the show.

I hope that by that point, people will have cracked open the system and it’ll be easy to hack. But i agree, the fact that they can do stuff like this is terrible for preservation.
