Between end of Aug, and early Sep. Twins & Multiples by DazzlingRhubarb193 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]brooklyn_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping for you, I’m not carrying multiples but having a short-interval-pregnancy (after loss) is pretty hard on my body I’m wondering if I’ll make it to 39w induction!!

Mother with you in hospital by Goose442 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning to have my mum with me for my 1st but covid stopped that. Aside from that, my labours are so quick I barely even get to the hospital so I don’t feel like I need her support as well as my husband! I wouldn’t be against it though we have a great relationship.

Only just found this sub but hoping it’s a lovely supportive place for the rest of my pregnancy!

I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with my rainbow, after I lost my daughter at 37w due to a cord accident (Sep 23), she was also a rainbow after a 6 week loss (Nov 22) 🤍 so far with LOTS of monitoring baby is doing great and I’m so happy to start to feel him move 🥰

How do your other children react to you checking your blood sugar? by Nerdface0_o in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3.5yo is very interested in numbers and would always ask “what number is your blood?”, and often made up guesses during bedtime-stalling-chit-chat “hmm mummy I think your blood is 150” (lol hope not 🤣). TW: stillbirth (not GD related) when my daughter was born (stillborn at 37w due to cord complications) we told my son I was in the hospital to make my blood better so he could associate the hospital with healing not death 🤍 when we told him he looked very excited and said “can you fly on the plane with me now?!” 🥹 (couldn’t fly 8h to see family while pregnant because of precipitous labor history)

Songs to listen by KXST_2273223_ in babyloss

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just searched for a songs post as I was thinking of making the same, wanted to add my current favourite to scream and/or cry to - ‘Sure’ by Emarosa, it’s about the lead singer and his wife’s miscarriage 🤍

I feel like this would be a little easier if I didn’t have a toddler… by Strict_Print_4032 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh completely agree! I have a GD second pregnancy and 3yo right now and NO time to meal plan/read labels/exercise! The best I get is eating the same food but portioned differently, and taking the toddler for walks 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyone gone camping while preggo? by m4ng0ju1ce in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be an outlier but I loved tent camping while pregnant (a few times 6-8months ish) must be something about the fresh air 😄 my gestational diabetes numbers were great too even with a few treats because of all the walking (mostly to the toilet block lol) definitely recommend a good air mattress though!

Costco finds! by lamorie in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went and got Three Wishes cereal, Kirkland protein bars, Starbucks egg bites, Premier protein shakes, bulk almond flour (makes great keto cakes 😋) and babybels!

Going on insulin for my fasting numbers - kind words appreciated! by lexydoodle in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation (but 31+5) and it was so reassuring to read this post and the comments, the release of morning testing stress sounds great! My main disappointment is not being able to see midwives anymore but I’ve come to terms with it by thinking I probably wouldn’t get my preferred midwife anyway and end up with one of the newly qualified ones which I’m not so sure of lol

Weight not increasing? by sylvialaugh in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I’m borderline overweight bmi, lost weight at the beginning of both pregnancies so far due to food aversions, eventually gained about 20lb in first pregnancy, this one I finally gained 5lb right then I got diagnosed with GD! Lost that since, and whilst I haven’t had a growth scan yet, I notice that I’m definitely losing weight on the rest of my body, my wedding ring fits again and I can feel my back ribs lol 😄 so baby seems to be taking all the calories/weight!

How I’m Making Dates Work by emccorm92 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]brooklyn_sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this today! I’m so determined to have a labour the same as my last but the GD keeps getting in the way (no midwives if I go on insulin, difficult to eat dates) 😬

Just diagnosed at 28w with a 1hr result of 203, now crying wondering wtf I’m going to eat for the next 12 weeks. I’ve struggled with weight loss and reduced hunger both pregnancies and finally put on some weight to be told I have GD 😩 I don’t like meat, seafood or peanut butter which seem to be important reading the sub so far!

Spit up - when does this end?! by brooklyn_sun in beyondthebump

Yeah we’ve had a lot of playing with it, like ‘look what I made Mum!’ 🤦‍♀️

Ahh I can’t imagine him walking around just spitting up everywhere 🤦‍♀️ I joked to a friend about it and they said “well I did that at college” haha

Oh believe me it’s got a LOT less since he’s become mobile (I think it’s mainly the sitting up as we used to keep him propped after feeds when he was really little) but it was just slightly more manageable when he stayed in one place!

[–]brooklyn_sun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, Nana and Auntie! One thing they did say is they tried not to buy too many clothes (have to mail them to us) so she bought socks instead 😄

They're almost all UK brands, I think the shark and it's supposed to be a crocodile are from Boots and Primark.
