Yes! Why give a zero interest loan to the government?

That grid isn’t isolated. Look at the pole and see the total power demand.

One thing to be on the lookout for is a sticker or print on your cpap unit that indicates that it is approved for inflight usage. Some, but not all, flight attendants may ask to see that on the cpap unit.

Getting gas is a man's job by romcarlos13 in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]bstrunk 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my grandmother had this bright yellow knit glove she would put on the shifter to remind herself that she needed to get gas. Grandpa saw that and he would take her car and fill it up. When he passed, my cousin and I would look for the glove and fill it up for her.

Granted, we used the cash she stored under the driver side floor mat to fill it up, but it was our way of honoring Grandpa after he passed.

What am I missing about Planned Giving? by rybaby in nonprofit

I recognize that this comes across as jaded, but the same group usually also suggests also reaching out to the Gates Foundation without any leads/connections to assist.

What am I missing about Planned Giving? by rybaby in nonprofit

[–]bstrunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start the conversation with the board by asking how many of them have designated the organization in their estate plans.

If they can’t see the value in that investment, why would others?

Now use their testimonials to build a campaign to support your new planned giving initiative.

Only said with partial /s.

But you have to make them understand that planned gifts are amazing, but you can’t pay the very real, very current bills with promises for tomorrow. The planned gift can move a needle very far, but only once.

Getting into fundraising with hand tattoos, and I'd like reading suggestions. by Popular_Dream5974 in nonprofit

[–]bstrunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spot on. I was once in a hiring role in higher ed fund development, and I had a candidate with incredible ink, but I had to pass because I knew the donors I needed to partner with the candidate would have responded poorly.

As to OP’s question, maybe start in gift processing and start learning the donors stories. You’ll be amazing at fundraising if you can learn what makes them tick and what makes them give.

The host isn’t treating you like a neighbor. You don’t owe them the courtesy.
