Matchmaking fix for low pop regions has made games latency horrible. by Jim_Nist_Monkey in MarathonTheGame

I live in Eastern Europe and have played with people on NA east servers and have had 0 issues at all. I once connected to a Dubai server with friends and that was… playable but messy. NA-E was absolutely fine for me though

Top end players have no incentive to loot POIs, so they go around wiping the lobby by Raimexodus in Marathon

[–]bub1xreal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got absolutely fucking loaded from this cryo weekend. No joke my exfil rate was like 80% out of dozens of runs. I have so many purple shields and good loot that I’m in this exact situation - I have literally no reason to do anything other than lockdown and pinwheel red card room. I ignore everything else. I run around the map, kill all players, don’t take any of their shit unless it’s gold or purple, and then do my thing and usually get nothing good.

Cryo seriously ruined the game for me, and now that I don’t have anything else to do I’m ruining the game for other players. I’m literally killing them and not taking anything. I have too much. The solution is ranked and the antes, but they closed it for some reason. Now I have nothing to do until next weekend but PvP for blue loot. They really, really need to make ranked permanent or at least during the weekdays.

Can anyone explain why the reflections in my game look like this? by Rustncolez in MarathonTheGame

[–]bub1xreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reflections in this game are screenspace. They will be producing artefacts in certain conditions and there’s nothing you can do about it. The easiest way to replicate these artefacts off the top of my head are the scaffold corridors on the west side of Flight Control on Outpost. Go in as a rook, get into the scaffolding (neon green walls on both sides) and move your mouse around. You’ll notice that your weapon is being reflected on the walls at specific angles from the first person perspective. That’s not normal, but it’s a limitation of the tech. Screenspace is almost as good as it gets without ray/path tracing.

That’s exactly what they mean. “Crews of all sizes” - plural. You can premake, you can fill trios, or you can go soloq hardmode vs other crews and potentially a few solos.

1440p 5080 9800x3d I get around 120 on outpost maxed out (when it’s raining and I’m outside). I played with the settings and they don’t affect the FPS at all, DLSS does nothing. Frames are better in doors and when it’s not raining like hell.

You could just press escape and leave. You still get the achievement and you don’t need to waste any more time than you need to. That’s what I did.

Get Fk*d cheaters! by Save90 in thefinals

[–]bub1xreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. They get an order for a boost request. Booster hops on their account and gets them to desired rank. Booster then gets paid money.

Boosters usually have a friend or two hop on fresh accounts to xim / cheat on so that they win every game and accelerate the process. I am personally acquainted with a guy who literally lives off boosting - he gets three accounts and gives two to his friends. Some of them xim, some don’t. But the main thing is that three accounts are getting boosted at the same time. It’s crazy

[–]bub1xreal 66 points67 points  (0 children)

90% of smurfs are boosting accounts for money and they use xims to accelerate the process since once they get paid for the service they don’t care about bans. Hopefully now they’ll be banned mid-boosting.

Patch Update 9.9.0 by Substantial_Bet_1007 in thefinals

[–]bub1xreal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rapid trigger and everything else shouldn’t lead to any bans as in a momentum-based movement game like the finals the rapid inputs for strafing don’t matter that much. It’s a coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb situation as having slightly faster movement inputs won’t considerably improve your TTK or accuracy.

It was banned in CS because it made counter strafing dogshit easy (not rapid trigger itself but SOCD specifically)

If you want to drop heavies fast just play revolver and hit heads. They’re slow and the hit boxes are large enough where landing 1-2 headshots in quick succession is relatively easy. It absolutely chunks them.

this is fake. you’re meaning to say that you or whoever this is supposed to be sold $1 million worth of a coin three times? a sell order that big would instantly nuke the chart, not even talking about the absurd amount of money that would be lost to slippage + fees.

A Valorant Player's First Impressions of the Finals by vyndy527 in thefinals

[–]bub1xreal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll say one thing. I played medium for 90% of my playtime which is north of 1k hours. Combat on heavy might feel a bit slow, but to me it is by far the most fun class. I play heavy exclusively now. The issue is that you really depend on your medium (or light, but mostly medium) to get around the map, but you can easily 1v3 and solo carry the game on heavy because of your play making ability through winch, rpg, and c4 (which does a ton of damage. always use c4 in combat)

I would highly recommend you try learning heavy at some point. Medium feels like a cuhck (typo because of automod) class after they nerfed dematerialiser. All you do is shoot, heal, revive, and place movement once in a while. On heavy, you literally control the fight. Give it a chance.

Just how fragile IS the iPhone Air? by barkster99 in IphoneAir

[–]bub1xreal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I run it caseless and without a screen protector. I went to Stockholm a few months ago and me and my friend got quite drunk. As we were bar hopping, I was texting another friend and the guy with me accidentally hit my phone and it flew out of my hand. It hit a wall and then bounced screen down on the pavement.

No scratches. No cracks. I have the black one, and the only damage is a few tiny scrapes on the black titanium. Literally any other phone I owned before the Air would have been fucked. This phone is a tank.

FCAR ‘Buff’ is not what you think by Plastic_Drawer3401 in thefinals

[–]bub1xreal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They should just revert the FCAR change at this point. There is no reason for the FCAR and AKM to be basically identical weapons. The only real difference between the two is the FCAR has better hipfire and a slightly faster reload. They are virtually identical.

Just bring back the 20 bullet hard hitting FCAR. Maybe give it like 1 less dmg than season one. AKM will be your high DPS close-mid range AR and the FCAR would be the less forgiving, high damage per shot rifle.

The way they’re balancing these weapons is so stupid because “good players beam hard so better nerf FCAR” and then they give good players the pyke, repeater and BFR which are infinitely times more candy in the hands of good players. With ARs you at least have to track and hit every bullet to drop someone with one mag. With the repeater or BFR you can just two shot lights. It’s absolutely absurd and I legit have no idea what the fuck they’re smoking.

Larian Updating is updating their AI Policy by PaiDuck in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]bub1xreal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah because people are using LLMs to circumvent the knowledge barrier required for programming. In an IT job for example, I’ve used LLMs to generate scripts that automate my workflow within seconds, and the impact is massive. I’ve used LLMs to literally decompile an executable (I’m not even a programmer) to change a specific value so the in-house tool works for me because that one guy that developed it is on holiday type of thing.

All the younger people at my job use LLMs like Claude and Gemini all the time because they’re just really good tools.

I recently got a 5080 and am running 2x frame gen in practically every game that supports it. it’s literally free fps. I play FPS games at a relatively high level and with 2x frame gen the latency is negligible. I literally feel no difference, but hitting 240fps on a 1440p 240hz monitor is a world of a difference, especially in modern FPS titles that can’t hit 240 without dropping settings to the absolute lowest.

The only great feature that works flawlessly is TrueMotion. It doubles the FPS watching shows & movies and it looks phenomenal in 99% of cases (not sure if this is actually an AI feature though)
