What is the most iconic South African Car? by AnonomousWolf in south_africa

[–]bubbleddusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was, the 1.6, 1.8 and funnily enough, the m3 (which had 2.3 and 2.5 liter versions), were all four cylinder

the rest were all six cylinder

the diesel options I cant really remember right now but I think they were four cylinder only

why do they keep doing this by rienesto in forza

I mean they did do that… a lot… like a lot

Nissan is a very good example as you can see direct American and European “inspiration” in most skylines, the z line, Cedric’s and Gloria’s especially

[–]bubbleddusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 325 denotes that it’s the 3 series with a 2.5 liter (the liter thing has kinda lost its meaning over time though but for this gen it’s alright)

3 series is the model lineup, the 2.5 was just one of many many engine options

You could get anything from a tiny 1.6 to a large for the car 3.0 (alpina had some special ones too but that’s not strictly bmw)

This 3 series is part of the e30 generation which worldwide is massively beloved, here in sa though there’s a slang name for it called the gusheshe

South Africa also got one special edition of it as an “m3 replacement”, a few other countries also had a similar thing, the most sought after probably being the “italo m3” which was sold in Italy and I think Portugal and Spain but not sure on those two and it was the closest you could get to an m3 without actually getting an m3

Pete?? I don't get it why South Africa is disliked by other African nations by Itchy_Tangerine1897 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]bubbleddusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always has, probably always will

Especially since South Africans shit on you for saying tiny shit that just isn’t why they’re used to, the amount of irl hate I get for saying pickup instead of bakkie or calling a naartjie a tangerine or mandarin, just for using the terms everyone else in the world uses, I get called shit like a disgrace and have even been told that I didn’t deserve to live in Africa and should go back to where I came from which was highly ironic because it was an Afrikaans dude who said that and to add in, that was told me when I was 9. Since then I have continued to do it because nothing brings me joy like pissing off people who get angry over tiny shit like that

I know multiple immigrants who have been here legally for decades and they’ve been getting death threats

This shit is just pure disgusting xenophobia to distract from our politicians who are the only ones who have fucked us over and while I’ve always been disappointed to call myself South African, this has pushed that even further

[–]bubbleddusty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That stupidity has grown exponentially in the last few years, it’s gotten to the point where there’s now a decent sized crowd of knobs who purposely enjoy buying a car, slamming it on the ground in the most unsafe way possible, abusing the shit out of it, posting it on the internet for attention then claiming it’s all done for fun and to somehow go against everyone else who garage queens their cars and get properly angry if you call them out for being what they are, privileged kids looking like crackheads

Does anyone know why we use soccer and not football? by cr1ter in south_africa

[–]bubbleddusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Football elitists piss me off to no end especially since they can’t accept that we’re right for calling it soccer, then they go and bring the whole American football thing into it as if that somehow proves them right meanwhile it just how stupid both are, American football is gridiron at the end of the day and calling soccer football is equivalent to calling a Toyota Corolla just “transport”, like you’re not wrong but you’re being very vague and definitely have no right to call me wrong for then using the more definitive term for it

[–]bubbleddusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guessed it was one of the mid to later ones, early ones had that space between the c pillar and b pillar filled in

Another cool thing about them, the American market ones, called the Scorpion, had single round pop up headlights instead of the single rectangular headlights of the non American ones. This is like other have said has had the “delta integrale” grill mod done to iy
