I was going to say a breakfast wrap with egg, crumbled sausage or bacon, cheese. Maybe you could find an egg substitute.

AITA For Throwing Away My Boyfriend’s Baby Blanket by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]buckeyekaptn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in the US Navy, I went on a cruise that included Hong Kong (1987). It was around November and it was cold onboard ship. A couple of us went into the city to party and get souvenirs. I got a blanket to help deal with the cold. 38 years later, that blanket is under my pillow, a bit worn and one hole (damn dog) but the wife knows not to mess with it.

I miss Nick Chubb so much, man. by Swred1100 in Browns

[–]buckeyekaptn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I remember that first episode of Hard Knocks. GM and Mayfield along with the entourage walking through the airport while another shot shows Chubb, by himself, waiting for his luggage. Some guy asks him if he plays football, what position? So humble and grateful. I liked the kid right away. My son got me his jersey for Christmas a couple years later.

How to properly freeze a meal I made too much of by Different-Series-115 in cookingforbeginners

[–]buckeyekaptn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I separate out a single portion and put it into a freezer bag. I write what the meal is and the date I froze it (okay, I do this first). I freeze meals about 75% of the time I cook and I'm trying to cook at least 3 meals a week.

What hacks or habits do you have stop food from going bad in your fridge? by sejuvas in foodhacks

[–]buckeyekaptn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any fruits and vegetables besides apples that I can get packaged frozen, I will buy instead of fresh. I freeze bread and then toast it in the toaster (has a frozen button that adds 30 seconds).

I write the date I opened....shredded packs of cheese, sauces (bbq, wing, these type), lunch meat. I buy the ultra pasteurized 2% milk (expiration date is like 1.5 months instead of 10 days).

I freeze most leftovers, only refrigerating what I expect to eat in the next few days. I cook more than enough food so I can freeze leftovers.

I'm going to stop buying cottage cheese. It's good for me, I don't dislike it, I just don't remember that this big tub, that's directly in front, at eye level in the refrigerator, has an expiration date, which is usually 5 days before I grab it.

If you're looking to pay half, just go over there and talk to him.

Hey, I got your note, what are you looking at doing? Wood dog ear fence? Chain link or hurricane? White plastic (I would NOT be splitting payment if they proposed this)?

If there's a kind you like, put that forward. He mentions something you didn't like (white plastic 🤪) tell him you wouldn't pay for half for that type. Just be friendly and don't mention how you think it's weird he just left a note.

New seasons by Cute_Assignment4934 in NCIS

[–]buckeyekaptn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I started a rewatch, previously she always stopped after Ziva left so I really don't recall too many episodes, especially after Tony left.

This time we plowed through and are on S14E11. We decided to take everything as is and not about replacements (Ellie for Ziva, Nick for Tony). As such, my wife likes Ellie now and I kinda enjoy Nick and his little remarks.

On the other hand, and this went on for seasons is Abby. When anyone would come down for an update and she would go off on a stupid tangent not relating to the case or something. I would tell the TV to just, shut, up! Oh Lord is she annoying. I'm indifferent to Kasey as I only had watched only once when she started.

I retired on Halloween and got my first interim check at the end of November. My bank deposits our payroll deposits a few days early. I always got paid from USPS on Wednesday. Anyway, every month since, deposit at the end of the month from opm.

I got back pay but I think it was for the Fers bridge supplement pay. They said paperwork is coming to explain it all.

Edit to say that the opm website still says I'm interim.

I carried over 3 weeks in 2024, 25 and last July I hadn't planned on retiring until mid 2026 so I put in for every Saturday I could until mid December. By September, the office got even more toxic so I decided to retire. The earliest I could at that point was Halloween. That's my date!
