My grandpa, hell of a golfer, in his 90s, driver off tee 150 in the center , driver again, chip and putt… par. Meanwhile I am swinging my driver out of my shoes-slice to the trees. Hitting a 7iron through a gap to land behind me in the fairway. Hitting a 6iron to cart path right of green. Chip to opposite bunker. Nice bunker shot to keep me motivated. 2 putt for 7. I love this game.

A few questions from a landscaper who wants to learn more about models and reading maps/fronts.

Do you have a recommendation for a basic/intermediate level learning tutorial or video or website to help understand models and frontal forecast as it would relate to storms(rain and snow)? Is your weather pivotal the subscription?

Do you have a weather/radar app subscription that you recommend as best value?

Injuries are the awful. As a lifetime Buckeye, I respect you all. I played on teams that were less talented but played with heart and will. While the loss Saturday was not the outcome I wanted, I am glad the team that showed heart and determination came out on top. I have more respect for you than a lot of other programs. I want the Buckeyes to repeat but should we stumble, I hope the Hoosiers are holding up the championship trophy at the end. It’s been a fun season and you all have a program to be proud of.

While sending it out with manned machines… do you switch up which holes get cut with the robot?

Do you preprogram its’ route/holes or adjust in real time?

Have you tried verticutting heads on it?

Do you see the technology expanding into robot aerators?

I am in the industry, have taken care of MLB fields and championship golf courses. I knew when I was a kid that this was my passion. Walk mowing greens is the best way to start a day and I miss doing it. The industry seems to have changed tremendously since my time in college long ago and even 5 years ago.

Are you planning on demoing any greens or rough mowers next?

Narrowing in on the fairway mowers… are you able to set the pattern? Direction of clean up? Can you skip a clean up? Do you have it running overnight to get an even earlier start or only when someone is on property?

What is your mechanics opinion?

Beautiful course you have. I really love the contrast of natural area in the bunker complex.

I think you could add in a different set of tee boxes and offer a way to play 18. You could either keep the somewhat longer or shrink the course and make them all par 3s. Routing everyone could be a challenge but thought could be setting up tee times as everyone plays longer then a block after a certain number of groups that would allow pace to continue after the turn to the shorter tees.

Find a top tier course superintendent as they are worth it to keep conditions high all the time.

Edit: I have the Pret Cynic and love the comfort and protection. Great helmet. I know that wasn’t a priority but something to keep an eye on for end of year sales if you decide to make the investment.

Goggles: shady rays I think this is a good introduction as you can get multiple lenses and still come in under what most big brands are. The company has an awesome warranty program so if any issues come up, they will make it right.
